Mick Mars is the guitarist's name that you forgot. Very underrated guitarist. He was overshadowed by everyone else in the band. He's not flashy but he's a great heavy bluesy player with some killer riffs
@MrTech2263 жыл бұрын
Robert Alan Deal aka Mick Mars came close to give up music when Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee were looking for guitarist, Deal (Mars) dyed his hair black hoping for a fresh start. Since he was 17, Mars has major health issue with arthritis that affects his spine and pelvis. Over the years, he was nearly seized up. That's why he looks stiff.

Actually in the 80's in allll the metal magazines with readers votes Crue dominated every category and Mick always got greatest guitar player and that is fact!I had every magazine there was to have cuz followed Crue from the beginning as well as Ratt!!That's all you seen on the covers was Ratt & Crue!!Mick and Warren Demartini are 2 of the best with metal and bluesy feels to their music!!

Don't agree, Mick is an average guitarist. the only real good musician is Tommy. But who cares, the mix of the four is awesome.

Concerts from the 80s bands were always shows for sure...it's why that era of music was so huge and why people keep going to them 30 plus years later. It was an experience you didn't want to miss and needed to be a part of for sure. So glad I got to experience that and still get that opportunity too!

Weird as this might sound.. I spent my young adulthood as a figure skater. What I liked about figure skating was getting to choose my own music and participating in my own choreography, and I chose many songs that were "off the grid", so to speak. When every other skater was out there performing songs from "Grease" or "Annie", I was out there with "Girls, Girls, Girls", dressed in black leather. Or "Pour Some Sugar on Me". "Turn Up The Radio" or "Bad Medicine". Or "Enter Sandman", dressed as the "Sandman", in a black tattered dress, as I put my own daughter (also a figure skater) to bed to face her night terrors....also skated to "Nothing Else Matters"... I pushed the envelope and surprise... I always won. Lol. Grease and Annie - done to death. My mission was to show how Metal and Figure Skating could come together if the skaters knew what they were was doing. My husband also joined in... He learned to play hockey and played cameo roles in our performances. It was awesome to hear the applause and also to see the bewildered faces on some other audience members. We as a family became known as "The Ones You Don't Know What To Expect From".

Wow, loved how deep you were into the groove from 7:00, @ 7:35 your head did the roll and drop on the beat, this part in the song is a beast, and you had it by the short and currlies, Mick screaming on the unison bend, your furrowed brow and in perfect sync then the dude stops it @ 7:38, you take an air swing to the silence cause the momentum of that groove is like a freightrain and you can't just make a dead stop. then your look....I've seen that before....I had a good time, no really.... Thanks for reminding me of the beauty of hard rocking women

The stories I could tell you, I am on old 80’s chick, I first saw these guys way up in Duluth Minnesota, besides losing my shoes, the incredible partying afterwards at at local bar where they showed up, even got on stage to jam withe band paying, towards end My mind blocks out some things ( obviously for good reason 🤪) but they were awesome, to experience concerts in the 80’s were amazing! My final concert was 91 in moscow with Metallica where I got quite injured but so many concerts and crazy times!

I HIGHLY Recommend the intro and first song Shout at the Devil of this Carnival of sins tour.. talk about being "FIRE"..... Incredible show...Last time I was happy w/ seeing Crue. It was the perfect show. Crue has always been theatrical and they're always looking at one upping the previous tour.. I mean Tommy has had tilting drum risers, drums that spin, drum roller coasters etc.. but over all this show/tour here was my favorite. The thing w/ Motley when they're all getting along they all still think they're in the younger 20's just getting their big break off the strip. Only difference is now they have the budget to do whatever their imagination can come up with for a show. And that's what the Carnival of Sins tour basically was.

Nowhere is "somewhere" because, when you get there, it's here. Mick Mars is always tight with those power chords. I've heard him compared to Frankenstein's creation - whoever created him deserves a Nobel Prize! They should check the seizmograph readings from the next county for those pyros at the start of Wildside!
@amandarobb28563 жыл бұрын
I've been a die hard Crüehead since grade 2 when Shout At The Devil came out (you do the math). Few things, as a blues based hard rock singer myself who also covers Girls Girls Girls, the secret to the "high notes" is they tune everything down to D first. Try it, it does my voice wonders and makes it last longer! Second, the 4th man you didn't know the name for is one of the most under rated shredders, Mick Mars. He is a great guy (we speak rarely, he is busy, but super nice). And you HAVE to go out and buy the following: The Dirt, their book. Yes the movie was not bad but their story is so absolutely insane, there isn't any way it could all fit into anything short of several full length movies and honestly, I doubt they have a rating for something so bad ass! There is a real reason why they are known as "The Bad Boys of Rock"! And you need to also grab a copy of their DVD from their final show in 2015, All Bad Things Must Come To An End. They fully intended to retire but have a U.S. tour booked for this summer. That was so far, their last world tour. I flew from where I live, about a 2 hour drive north east of Toronto to L.A for 1 SINGLE CONCERT! No, it wasn't 1st time seeing them, I've been a faithful fan for 3 decades and seen many shows. But THAT show was the biggest one of their career. Tommy Lee's roller coaster drum kit got stuck, with him in it, halfway through, with him hanging upside down! With so much extra wireless (namely cameras) signals got crossed and there he hang. It was EPIC. The whole show was epic. Never used so much Pyro in their career as that night, arrived by special hearse (I got shots of me bent over it out back!), I'm telling ya, Nikki's band of a runaway, an old man, a kid drummer and a cover band singer has never been matched by anyone. And trust me, I've seen almost everything. I was born into a rock and roll family and raised rock and roll. I've done a lot but these guys have really done everything. Just a side note too, Nikki Sixx wrote almost all of their music over 40 years. Not bad for one of the most notorious heroin addicts and alcoholics of the 80s eh? Oh, and I wear his autographed portrait proudly on my leg and lots more Mötley tats elsewhere...seriously, get some shopping done. I've given you a small list to start with. You won't regret your new found addiction. And yes. Every single concert was a party. For all of us!

Mick Mars is a bloody marvel. Hes had a rare form of arthritis since his teens which has meant his spine has fused and he has suffered a lot pain. Its so great to see him standing let alone play like a boss. I like Motley Crew but as some else mentioned the singing in their earlier years is better. These days Vince is just a meme on youtube.
