I remember back when I was still in High School. A buddy who was into these bands made me a tape. Yes a CASSETTE TAPE! LOL. On side A was Twisted Sister Stay Hungry. On side B was Mötley Crüe Shout At The Devil. I played the Twisted side and I loved We're Not Gonna Take It, Stay Hungry, it was a good album. I wore side A out and then click Side B popped on. In the Beginning played. The creepy feel. The ominous vibe. Then Shout At The Devil started and WTF! I WAS HOOKED! Then Looks That Kill! From that moment on I was a Crüe fanatic! I went out and bought their First album, and Shout At The Devil as well. See I already had a "copy" but I had to have the original! Since then I've rebought those tapes, albums,💿💿CD's💿💿, and 📀📀DVD's📀📀!! Every new album, every single song, and until my family passed away I was at every concert. They were as much a part of my life as oxygen, food, water or in my case Mt.Dew and Pepsi. They were heroes, idols, rock and roll gods. Life imitates art. I got lost after the deaths of my family. My life became dark, desperate, and empty. Drugs became my new friend. I had played the game earlier. I knew what was wrong and what made me feel or again in my case NOT FEEL. I thought becoming numb was the better solution. Not feeling no pain. But what I failed to see, or realize is that without ALL FEELINGS, pain and misery included, you can never know what true happiness is. And it's NOT DRUGS! I was thrown off a forklift and was dragged into a display case. I couldn't feel my legs or arms for what seemed like hours. It was actually 10-15 minutes. I ended up with a herniated disc in my lower back with nerve compression. They didn't want to do surgery on me given my age, early 30's. So I was told to try a chiropractor, that made it far worse. Then physical therapy. During this I was told to take Percocet for pain. Later Vicodin ES. The joke was I was the Vik-king. Meaning I always had them. Soon I realized I didn't want to take them, but then I got sick. Like the flu. Even a fever, cough, chills, and then my belly. I went to my family doctor. She gave me antibiotics and cough medicine. It was a liquid Hydrocodone. I felt better. Then again it happened. And again. I was a moron but I never knew how "addicted" you could become on these. It wasn't ever mentioned. Here is where I got pissed off! While I was hurt with my back I had a orthopedic doctor, a orthopedic surgeon, my family doctor, and a specialist. All prescribed me either Percocet, Vicodin, or Vicodin ES. Usually between 40 and 80 per prescription and they always has 2 to 4 refills. Back then the doctor's could phone them in, give refills, and it was far less regulated. I learned that doctors were GIVEN GIFTS for prescribing the pharmaceutical companies drugs exclusively or at least far more than others. Now I'm not BLAMING them 100%. However AFTER they get you addicted THEN they call you out and become concerned. I took care of my Mom for 8+ years, the last 3 she was bedridden. I was working 10 hours at my job, 3rd shift, I'd come home make her breakfast, get her medications set, her breathing treatments ready, help her to the bathroom, and then get set for lunch. I'd ONLY CHANGE ONE THING, HOW I ACTED AFTER SHE DIED, AND THEN WHEN MY DAD DIED SOON AFTER. I knew that the pills would take away pain. I learned if you took more it could NUMB YOU like I said. These decisions made by me were stupid! I learned my Dad had inoperable lung cancer a couple months after my Mom passed away. I moved up by him to take care of him as well. During these years, I became best friends with both my Mom and my Dad. My Mom and I would watch scary movies, comedic movies, any movies! We'd📼rent📼📼VHS📼tapes📼, yes TAPES! LOL! Actually I'd rent them while her nurse was with her. Those were the only times I could leave. When she had someone there with her. It was hard. When my Dad died he wasn't even 100lbs anymore. I felt as if I failed! I fell into a trap or an Abyss of misery. Pills💊💊💊💊💊 were NOT the answer! FINALLY I had a surgery. This one removed my head from my ass! I stopped ALL OF THE DRUGS! From opiates to pot. Nothing anymore! Let me say to any kids who think they know better? Or know more about life than your parents? You are in for a HUGE FALL! Listen to them! Love them! Let me tell you this, drugs, the dealer's friendship lasts only as long as the money! And unless your LOTTO RICH! YOU WILL NOT HAVE ENOUGH TO LAST FOREVER! Soon those dealer pals will be gone. When you paying, they love you! When your broke, bye bye! On the other hand you FAMILY WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU!! I am NOT trying to push any agenda. I just don't want ANY KID to ever feel the effects of withdrawal! The pain of it, and the emptiness of being alone! Take care! You DON'T NEED TO BE HIGH to be a Rock FAN!

Sittin' in the classroom thinkin' it's a drag Listening to the teacher rap just ain't my bag When two bells ring you know it's my cue I'm gonna meet the boys on floor number two Smokin' in the boys room Smokin' in the boys room Nah teacher, don't you fill me up with your rule 'Cause everybody knows that smokin' ain't allowed in school Checkin' out the hall makin' sure the coast is clear Lookin' in the stalls, nah, there ain't nobody here My buddies Sixx, Mick and Tom To get caught would surely be the death of us all Smokin' in the boys room Smokin' in the boys room Nah teacher, don't you fill me up with your rule 'Cause everybody knows that smokin' ain't allowed in school Hey, can I be excused? Well, put me to work in the school book store Check-out counter and I got bored Teacher was lookin' for me all around Two hours later you know where I was found Smokin' in the boys room I tell you I was smokin' in the boys room Nah, nah, nah teacher, don't you fill me up with your rule Everybody knows that smokin' ain't allowed in school Everybody! Smokin' in the boys room Smokin' in the boys room I tell you I was smokin' in the boys room Smokin' in the boys room Hey teacher, don't you fill me up with your rules Everybody knows that smokin' ain't allowed in school One more!
