Vince didnt hv a great voice but he did hv a unique voice that fit Motley perfectly. Not to mention he's always been one helluva front man. Vince can work a crowd.
@j0hn_d037 Жыл бұрын
He is no Mark Slaugher or Warrel Dane or Bruce, Dio, Halford, neither of them is him. Cobain was on the level of dio technically speaking of vocals, though people like his songs. Motley Crue were lucky to get the right vocalist who fits the music 10 out of 10.

I'm a huge Crüe fan and I'm really interested in the strange case of the Nikki Sixx doppleganger MAtthew Trippe. At first I din't believe it, but the more I get into it the more doubts I have. I've been reviewing a lot of material from '84 and '85. In that era, Nikki wore all the make up, big hair, sunglasses and full glam costume and it could be him or anyone else. But if you look closly to some videos or pictures, there are strange things. For example, in most of the pictures you can see Nikki is a big guy, as tall as Tommy, and towers above Vince. In the end of this show, at the curtain call, you can see this "Nikki" is the same heigh as Vince, and he has small shoulders. The same happens in some late Shout at the Devil and Theatre of Pain tour pics. I dunno what to think. Maybe Matthew Trippe was just an obsesed guy who created a fantasy, or maybe he indeed replaced Nikki for some shows. Some of you guys know something about it?
@Arcgymnastics5 жыл бұрын
Dude... Vince is standing tall with his feet together, Sixx has his legs spread and knees bent to get down to the same height as him.

I see what your getting at but ive seen sooooo many crue footage that i dont think the matthew trippe thing was real. If it was i think it was maybe a couple times at most. You can see by the teeth it was all nikki. In 1985 nikki gained pretty much weight bc of his addiction and then lost a shit ton of weight in 1986 when his heroin usage became next level. I do agree that even in this video, nikki looks somewhat off, he was always a big muscular guy, here he looks somewhat puffy like Trippe. But then again. He did gained weight around these times, it was obvious in some of the Shout At The Devil interviews.

So many people rag on Vince. He had a' Unique" voice. Most all great rock singers are this way. You need to have that and a look to be a great front man. None of these rock singers claim to be classically trained anyway.

probably the only time vince sounded good live. Im a big motley fan, but there is no need for everyone to defend his voice to this day, it was never great.. he isn't a great singer, and that shows, painfully most of the time, in live performances... thing is though, motley live weren't about sounding amazing, they were about kicking ass... still, i cant imagine how much greater they would be considered had vince had a voice like steven tyler, that would be insane.
@AnonymouslyAware6275 жыл бұрын
Yeah true. I would add his voice is a lot like Ozzys...sucky but unique. People learn the songs with that original voice.
