I live in Indiana. In 1990 I had a friend who went to jail for 3 years for marijuanna. No one died. No one was harmed. He wasn't famous. Just an average kid who got caught with some pot. 3 YEARS. To think Vince Neil got off with 30 days for killing someone is unthinkable.

My best friend, a complete pacifist, spent 12 1/2 years of a 25 year sentence for selling a sheet of LSD to an adult. This d-bag KILLS his passenger, and severely disables the innocent victims in the other car, and spends hardly any time in the pokey, and spends the time he WAS locked up, sampling the delights of the various and sundry visiting skanks escorted to his actual cell by jail guards/babysitters. As if the fucking mediocre songwriting and musicianship weren't unjust enough. And the fact that portly Vince had the bad taste to venture into auto racing, is just magically devoid of self-aware ness.

I think theres a bigger reason why Sixx was kept around.His Uncle was the CEO of Capitol records in L.A. at the time and it makes sense,imo,even tho its never been proven,I will bet anything his uncle made a call for him,because lets be honest here,Nikki Sixx could NOT play bass,I dont even think he played live,I believe they most likely played tape behind him and anither thing,now looking back on the story of him hurtung his shoulder during SATD recordings, makes me think he just couldnt play the songs,but he had to be visually a part of the band because like I said his uncle is probably the one who got them signed,it makes a ton of sense!!And then we have the Matthew Trippe story!!I always wondered about his role if any in this??Now I absolutely would not be surprised if he did do work fir them,because if u think about this,SATD is a 180° turn from TFFL and then Theatre was totally different from SATD and imo it was closer to TFFL then SHOUT so its weird to me,like wtf did Shout come from,in the middle of those two records??And guess what Sixx or the Crue NEVER made another record like Shout until funny enough a new element was added to the band for 1994's self titled with CORABI and once again it was much heavier and Sixx said in an interview from that time period it was SATD 2!?!?lmao,so I may not be far off with this and if he was truly the songwriter for the band hed get the lions share but once again if its to be believed on SM Tommy has earmed almost twice as much as Sixx,wtf would that be,if he was always supposedly the main songwriter??lol,I was a massive Crue fan since mid 80's but now with all thats coming to liggt with the band,espesially the fraudulent shit,I still like the memories and okder stuff ,but I think Nikki Sixx is a huge fraud

MC came to Guam, where I was stationed in the Air Force. The lead singer was so loaded that the band used a taped track. Even with the lip sync help, the singer missed cues, running up to the mic stand AFTER the pre-recorded singing had started. My troops were thoroughly disgusted, some of them even tossing the albums into the trash. To be fair, I kept a tape machine on stage in case the technology failed. Computers and software were in their infancy and too unreliable for live performances. It was common for the blazing sun to cause electronics to lock up. Still, MC should've stayed away from the partying and focused on the mission.

I have 2 dugouts I've had since the 90s that somehow always escaped detection and confiscation. Got searched by a cop with one in my back pocket, thought for sure it was about about to be gone and perhaps me with it, but for whatever reason he didn't search that one pocket. Had to toss another in some rocks along a riverbank, figuring I'd never see it again. Went back the next day and my buddy found it sitting there in plain sight, it's amazing the cops never saw it while scanning the area. There's a certain lifetime love that comes with a good dugout, if you're meant to be together you'll stay together. On the reverse side, I was once at a concert with friends and a buddy asked a stranger next to us if he could hit his bowl, which apparently he was pretty semtimentally attached to. The guy was cool and obliged. But security spotted him immediately and took it. My friend felt terrible and gave the guy all he had, it was 30 or 40 bucks. It was early in the day of a long 2 act show and the guy seemed okay about it at first but as the day went on he just wouldn't let it go. It taught me a good lesson about not mooching from strangers.

Nikki Sixx and his general demeanor of non-interest towards the bass guitar throughout the years took away any surprise of the fact that he has been air-bass-ing to prerecorded live tracks all these years. Totally makes sense now as that is his roll within MC in their live setting. Its his call in how they present themselves while entertaining and no disappointment as a long time listener of the Crue.
@Sadlander28 ай бұрын
It is true that Nikki could barely play bass at all. However, some years ago, he took bass lessons and I've heard him play. He's far from being a great bass player but he can play his own songs. Having said that, I don't know if it's because he doesn't want to focus on his playing or because he's a perfectionist or...who knows why but he decided that instead of playing live, he would use pre-recorded bass tracks. I understand that for a great rock concert, besides the music, it's very important to have a lot of visuals (things for the audience to see) and have band members that move around onstage and look cool but in their case, it seems like that's all they care about and they don't care about playing their instruments anymore (with the exception of Mick Mars). Personally, I would be pissed if I paid to see them and instead of watching a live band, I would watch Vince Neil doing Karaoke and the rest of the band (with the exception of John 5) cosplaying themselves using pre-recorded tracks, especially with tickets that cost you an arm or more!!

The Motley Crüe self entitled album was awesome and so was Vince’s solo album “Exposed.” I can’t believe the way they’re treating Mick Mars, he’s the only truly talented musician in the band. Fools. I saw there Carnival of Sins tour in 2006 and they sucked so bad. Vince sung maybe 30% of the lyrics leaving the rest to the audience. He was winded and sounded awful, you could tell Nikki wasn’t playing bass and same for Tommy on drums yet they still sounded like shit. I left early so disappointed. I saw their Dr Feelgood tour and it was great. The little stunt they pulled signing the contract saying they’d never tour again was just a way to rip off their fans and it was pathetic. They should have retired in 2000 because now they’re just destroying what’s left of their legacy and destroying their relationships within. The whole thing is about greed and cash. Give up the ghost, as they say. They’re done. Sending my love to Mr. Mick Mars. 🤘🏼

My dad is from California and so growing up, I would frequently hear his classic rock radio stations he would have on. The rock stations would periodically have a Motley Crue song on here and there. My dad does not like Motley Crue. So, hearing about this tea spill and drama with some of the other “classic rock bands” of the same time period such as AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, and etc. (that I still like and enjoy) was interesting. It almost makes me wonder if the feuds between bands make fans of some of the other bands dislike them purely because of the feuds. Because I am a casual fan of theirs. In between my freshman and sophomore year of high school (2008), they released their album Saints of Los Angeles. And it gave them a sudden resurgence in popularity. Kinda similar to how Netflix’s The Dirt did in more recent years. And it made me start listening to more of their songs/music. Motley Crue, in my opinion, have some of the worst reputations in rock music when it came/comes to drug and alcohol use/misuse and rowdy behavior. Them and probably The Who. In my mind, I have always lumped Motley Crue and The Who together (despite the two different time periods) because both bands would overindulge in alcohol/use hard drugs and destroy hotel rooms.

Nikki Sixx is the brain of Motley Crue. He looked at what made a band great and used little pieces from each band that he liked to form his own band. For example, he liked how Van Halen looked like with a blond frontman that stands out from the rest of the band and that's why he immediately liked Vince Neil. He wrote all the lyrics and came up with ideas for their songs but then let the rest of the band turn those ideas into great songs. It is true that Nikki could barely play bass at all. However, many years after starting Motley Crue, he took bass lessons. I've heard him play, he's far from being a great bass player but he can play his own songs. Having said that, I don't know if it's because he doesn't want to focus on his playing or because he's a perfectionist or...who knows why but he decided that instead of playing live, he would use pre-recorded bass tracks. this band for sure does absolutely have their issues, i also do agree that in their old age they became greedy old a**holes. but you cant deny their absolute success, regardless if you do or dont like them, they still made some of the most ICONIC songs from the 1980's. to be labeled "the worlds most notorious band" is something i myself would even be proud of, its not like motley crue is the only band to do this to themselves, people seem to forget that. ever since i watched the dirt when it first came out, ive never quit music. theyre the exact reason that me and my band soon will be releasing and album this summer, regardless of what people say about them, i will ALWAYS look up to them, maybe not as people, but as a band that came, they saw, and conquered for so long while being on constant thin ice. i also saw them on their stadium tour, and i believe they still did good, vince isnt perfect, yeah he skips lyrics, but you guys act like motley songs arent hard to sing, vince back then had a 1 of 1 voice, it was unique. those kinds of things dont last forever. vince is in his early 60's now. hate all you want, they still had a big impact on music.
