Look up the word idyllic in the encyclopedia and it's going to show a picture of you guys at that campground. Great video and I feel like I'm there with you. Bravo....

Looks like a great trip! I've still gotta get out to the Burr Trail on my dual sport. It always seems like whenever I head out that way, I'm on a mission to somewhere else like Goblin Valley, Capitol Reef or points beyond. I should probably just stop and smell the theoretical roses in that general vicinity and get off the beaten path a bit and enjoy the area instead of just powering through!

Well, that's the problem with that whole area...there is just too much cool stuff to see and do out there! It would take lifetimes! Appreciate you watching!

The KLR and DR are really to different animals finally a look at the KLR I can see why people like them

They are, which is why I have both. This trip was perfect for the KLR (and Himalayan). Appreciate you watching!

I think the “fix” for that hazard issue on the Himmy is to turn off the hazards, turn on the hazards then turn off the hazards. My Himmy has done that twice. Build quality. ;-)

You are correct sir, that was the fix :)

Beautiful ride d-roc and Jen awesome views, you don't mind me asking what the brand of the chin mount makes a nice camera view
@precipiceofgrind
@precipiceofgrind Жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! The mount is 'Chin Mount'. The make models for almost every helmet. I have a Scorpion Eco AT950 and the mount fit and worked great.

Dave do you ever worry about snakes? I guess it is not an issue at 9,000+. I just got back from two + months in Colorado at 10,400 (Tin Cup) and no snakes too cold. What a great great camping spot!!!

No, not at that elevation. Cautious in the desert. I've encountered lots of rattlesnakes, there's plenty of them out there. So far so good. Luckily most give a warning when you get close so I can go the other way. It's the babies without the rattles that won't dry bite that can really mess your day up. My wife got bit twice on the foot by a baby rattlesnake years ago, almost lost the foot.

I have ridden all over in our area. Same places you ride and have not seen anything on the road and have hiked and climbed over rocks that was somewhat stupid on my part. I have a sort of phobia when it comes to those things. :-) I don't want to see any either. Glad to hear Jen came out ok. FYI I am planning Grand Canyon N and Alpine Loop out of Lake City if you have an interest.

Love to see the klr out again...much better road bike then the DR

This was a great trip for the KLR (and Himalayan). I'm going to have to agree that the KLR is a better road bike than the DR, especially in high wind.

How would you feel about doing the same trip on your CRF300l? I am not sure I am doing the right thing but have my 2022 XT250 with 150 miles on sitting on a trailer taking it to FPS in St George for a 2023 CRF300L. Hoping I could run a little faster on the payment. Another great video.

Absolutely, I would do the same trip on my 300L without hesitation. This trip would not be very comfortable (for me, 500 miles round trip) on an XT250, doable..of course.. but the 300L would be much better. Congrats on your 300L and thanks for watching!

How’d you like the D606 combo I had them on my KLR for about 900 miles and I’m taking them off only because of the noise I don’t know if it’s my ears but it was horrible and I do wear earplugs so I’m trying some Mitas tractionactors next..
@precipiceofgrind
@precipiceofgrind Жыл бұрын
Yeah, the 606s were loud...no doubt about that but the tires worked well for me. I now have Tusk D Sports on my KLR and I didn't notice them much on this ride, loudness that is. I wasn't wearing earplugs.

@@precipiceofgrind my mistake, I thought you were going from tusk to the 606. I hope the tusks work out great for you. They have a lot of good quality parts. I run a lot of their stuff.
