This does not help if you do not know the password to the phone because when you hit the power button to reset, it asked you for the password to turn the phone off or to reset it

Force off the Android….hold the power button for 10 seconds then IMMEDIATELY let go then repress the power button before the screen comes back up while simultaneously holding the volume down button Your welcome

@@HolySpirit_7744any chance you might know how to bypass a google pass code after the hard reset is completed? I reset it, I hit do not transfer data ect the pin immediately comes up

An activation lock prevents someone else from gaining access to your phone should it be lost or stolen. If you're returning, replacing or selling your phone the lock should be disabled beforehand. Google and Samsung each have their own activation locks and offer different methods of removal. For example, if the phone is factory reset with the Google account still signed in, the phone will still ask for those credentials once it turns back on. Therefore it is safer for the account to be removed before the factory reset takes place to ensure your account is fully removed.
