I'm picking up the Moto G5 plus after my OneplusX got water damaged and died. It was such a good phone and I hate that I had to get rid of it...I hope the Moto is as good to me as that was! NFC and Rapid charging are a plus so maybe I'll be swung back over to Motorola when my G5 plus arrives. If Oneplus bring out a successor to the X though; I might be swung back!

My g5 Plus is an amazing device. The battery is the best part. It never dies... seriously. And the charge is SO fast. The camera, well yeah, hard times in low light but in day light, is just like a Nexus 5X. Amazing photos.

My main points are the indestructibility, and Moto Actions where you can shake the phone for flashlight (much more useful than you expect) or twist for the camera. Any questions?

I've had this phone for three years now, and I drop my phone every day. Sometimes multiple times a day. It's been thrown down stairs plenty of times on accident and hit concrete countless times. I have a cheap silicone case on it from amazon and a tempered glass screen protector. While the screen protector has had some cracks and scratches in it over the years, my phone is COMPLETELY fine. It's starting to slow down just a tad bit, but nothing too bad. I'm realizing now when considering a new phone that I've been so spoiled with the durability as this one. It's a true gem. I hope the newer motorolas are just as durable!

I suggest you unlock the bootloader and install a custom Android 10 ROM like Pixel Experience. Makes it a bit snappier IMO.

@@rmendez011 Most if not all custom roms that were created for the moto g5 plus were created for the 4gb version. The 2gb version struggled to run these. Apps would be extremely slow to open, gcam would always crash since there wasn't enough memory. If I used google maps and a music player for example the music player would close in the background. Just an all around bad experience. Your 6t probably wasn't hindered by hardware like my g5 plus was.

I love how you always "frame" your shots with random bits you have lying around so it's not just an empty background like most smartphone reviewers. Like at 1:21 you have a mug, a plant, a cable, and a moto g5 phone case evenly spread on all 4 corners of the shot with the phone in focus in the middle. You even did the same kind of framing when you're holding the phone in your hand at 2:22. Such great attention to detail :D It's art, literally.

I replaced my s7 with the 4gb ram model of the g5 plus, and the g5 plus is so much better also: the camera is incredible. I'd say the EIS is comparable to that of a pixels, and the stills are amazingly sharp. like, they put the S7 to shame sharp. I'm very picky about my phone's camera and this phone definitely focused on the camera, both front and back. (the front camera is a bit too sharp-it's a bit uncomfortable)

chiru G they both have their ups and downs, I couldn't stand the battery, overheating, lack of storage (both 32gb and TouchWiz) or severe oversharpening of the S7 s camera. G5 plus isn't the world's greatest phone, but for what I do it's so much better. I mean, it does have a great LCD, but I'll admit I miss AMOLED

@@deekayjee_original the s7 was a laggy piece of trash with awful battery life. a few months ago I switched back to it to try Samsung pay and it was like 10x laggier, it overheated like hell, and the gps nearly got me into like three accidents because it was so slow. I live in the US so I have the snapdragon varient, which is a lot different from the exynos. switching back to the g5 plus was so nice, I missed touchwiz features tho so I bought a OnePlus 6 in September.

My Moto G5 plus is still working better than most of the latest phones in the same price range, I got mine for just ₹9999/- during the sale though, that too in January 2018. It's been more than 3 years now, it's still working as it did when it was new. The camera may not be the best, but it does capture good shots, better than the over-processed ones from the Oppos and Vivos, sometimes Samsungs too. The battery has degraded a bit, but that's acceptable for a phone 3 years old. When it comes to the display, it's better in both, the aspect ratio as well as the pixel density. Outdoor visibility is not as bad as some of the reviewers allege. In fact, it's acceptable. Pictures and texts do look good, by good, I mean really good. Moreover, the display is wide that makes web browsing a very nice experience. But, at the same time it's wide enough to let you not type anything with just one hand unless you use glide typing as I do. Mine recieved the last OS update to Android 8.1 and no security updates since Feburary 2020. The only downside is the speaker. It's not bad, it's worse. Anything worse could be a phone without a speaker at all. The fingerprint sensor is more than good, it is not blazingly fast, but not slow either. The gesture mode makes it even better. I think that's a good enough review for a phone that's 3 years old. Thank you for reading.

Jonny Perez The modified version of Android in Huawei phones is horrible. I recommend the moto g 5. It has the stock android and no bloatware.

I'd say they're pretty close. The only thing you might pick the G5 for over the 6X is if you want the near-stock Android experience but if it doesn't matter to you then go 6X. :)

I just upgraded my dad from this phone to a Pixel 7. A pretty big upgrade, though I don't think he could really tell, because he doesn't really care about phones. But finally has Type C, 5G and it's up to date.

I liked my M8 but I didn't have it for that long and I got rid of it like a year ago, it's great for the price (camera is pretty meh) and I used CyanogenMod but now there are probably LineageOS builds for it. But like the other guy said the SD 801 and 2GB of RAM are kind of outdated, I have a SD 805 (which is also getting kind of old now) and 3GB of RAM, which is fine.

I've had this phone for a year and a half now. I've dropped this on hard surfaces countless times but there's not a scratch on the screen. The screen is full HD, it runs pretty much every app you'd ever need perfectly and it looks nice. I don't see any reason to upgrade.

Agent Snake i think zte axon 7 because -Zte Passport warranty -1440p screen -Sterio speakers -Good headphone dac -Google Daydream -Cheaper than OnePlus3t at $399 rather than $439. Both are great phones OP3t has Snapdragon 821 and 6gb ram rather than Snapdragon 820 and 4gb of ram(or 6gb depending where you live).I think Zte Axon 7 is just a more versatile phone.

The problem of moto is there services after warranty even if it is simple software issue the guy (mostly non technical )at the service center without trying just said you need to replace motherboard which has only 3 months warranty . from my experience this shit happening after Lenovo takeover Motorola ....old motorola is much better when it comes to service design & quality I miss old motorola
