Geez, that is a serious design flaw by Moto. A good thing I watched this before I was going to order a battery. I'm thinking of quitting Moto alltogether now.

Do you believe the battery rating of 3500mA ? I have a moto G7 with battery expansion separating the top half Glass side. If moto won't fix it for free (they should because of the safety feature of an exploding or fire) I'll have to pick up a battery. Are you getting any good or bad reports on the customer supplied battery?

Not that Ive heard of. Most smartphones have a warranty of 1 year. Anything that happens after that, Motorola is not responsible. Including an expanding battery. Most of the time this is a sign of a degraded battery. Most people get 2-3 years out of the original battery, but I have seen cases where it happens shortly after the 1 year mark

@@saveyourcell I would like to think since a expanding battery could catch on fire moto would look at this as a safety recall. I had a similar problem with a Samsung cell phone. They replaced the battery and the cracked screen due to battery expanding out of warranty. Moto doesn't offer that level of care for customers safety.

@@n1kkri Every smartphone model has had this happen. It's part of lithium-ion batteries. I've repaired Motorolas, Samsungs, Pixels and iPhones with this issue. And it is a possibility that it could ignite, but it is very unlikely

if I understand it correctly... Motorola doesn't make phones any more... I love my G7.... on my 4th one. Going to miss it when it dies...
