To hide the notch on phones that don't offer the option by default: >Settings >About phone Scroll all the way down to where it says "Build number". Tap this 7 times, or until a notification comes up saying you are now a developer. Go back one screen. >Advanced >Developer options Scroll all the way down to the "Drawing" sub section. Scroll down to where it says "Device Cutout". Touch this option, then select "hide". This works on the entire G7 line, and potentially, any other phone with a notch that doesn't offer the option to hide it by default. TL;DR: Enable Dev options, find Dev options in advanced menu, find Device Cutout. Select hide.

I Loved this phone. If it comes in INDIA under 15K than i would definitely wait for it . MOTO ACTIONS are just amazing to use. and the camera quality is just awesome on this. I am currently using MOTO G4 PLUS. and MOTO G5 and G6 series dint impressed me. BUT if this phone comes to INDIA in budget segment than many would buy it for sure... You guys most have gotten a faulty device, I get between 5 to 6 h sot on my moto g7 plus despite it just have a 3000 mAh battery, Motorola makes the best battery's or optimise it software the best.

Man, if this thing had a 3400 mah battery and a snapdragon 660, it would've been great, cause it has some extras like splash proof, stereo speakers and OIS that the competition lacks. It's a shame, if it's battery we're bigger and its processor we're better it would've been able to challenge the likes of Honor, Xiaomi and Realme. But as it stands, the phone is good, but lacking in some areas.

There seems to be a trend with Motorola devices and poor battery life. It's really unfortunate. Thankfully my Moto Z3 Play came with the battery pack mod. I feel like the battery pack helps significantly with battery life.

Very well-made review. Quick, informative. I owned like 3-4 different phones from the Moto G series so far but last time went for the X4. Just love the pure android and the Moto gestures. the 59h endurance test however stops me from buying this one. I hope they release a g7 Plus Power with 5000mah battery in the next 4-5 months. That would be a killer buy. :)

A correction: he says the frame is plastic but this is not accurate. The G7 Plus frame is in fact aluminum, while the others in the G7 series are plastic.

That's one thing I m not thrilled with about moto. They put in some extra bit of software,, but don't have a very flexible group of others. Really appreciate the speakers finally. All in all, in about a year when the price drops a bit,,, looks like a great alternative to the Nokia I was considering. Good review, thanks

Doesn't fast charging kill the battery sooner in the long run? This phone is not a bad choice for those who want a multifunctional device for a reasonable price (up to 300 euros). I'm looking for a replacement for my HTC M8S, which cannot no longer run all the necessary programs smoothly. If you install all the updates that are suggested by Play, then there is generally no free space, as the phone tries to keep the old versions of all the software to support full rollback when you do a full reset. But I don’t want to lose anything from my HTC M8S functionality - I need my NFC, stereo speakers, and, of course, some improvements - at least 3GB RAM, a fresh processor, support for the latest Android, and I also really want that OIS for more stable photos because I have shaky hands. So, I select the filters in gsmarena: - price up to 350 - OS - Android 9 - RAM - 3GB - check NFC - check dual speaker - check OIS And what do we get? Moto G7 Plus Asus Zenfone 5 ZE620KL Huawei mate 9 HTC U11 The last two options are outdated designs, the screen does not effectively use the available area. So, only the choice between the ZE620KL and the G7 Plus remains. Not sure. Maybe I should wait for something better but I'm losing my hopes. Every new model lacks NFC or stereo speakers or OIS. Also, I'd like some trustworthy brand with clean-ish Android experience. Xiaomis are good only after a year or so, when they stabilize their firmware. Huawei future is not clear. Samsungs have lots of bloatware. HTC - not sure if they will survive for long. Sony midrange is almost always overpriced for its features. So, only Nokia and Motorola remains as more or less reliable.

I was given an Iphone 6 a few years ago. It was my first smartphone and I only kept it for about a year. I decided to do some budget cuts and opted for a flip phone since then. I'd like to buy another smartphone but I'm not willing to pay for an Iphone. I don't need the most advanced or even moderately advanced smartphone, just something that's decent. You should consider a used/older flagship model. The LG G6 can be had for $140 and it is better than this Moto in many regards. If you want to go really cheap, check out the TCL LX or LG Phoenix 3. These are prepaid phones under $30. Yes, you heard that right. $30 for a phone!

One more review from my favorite reviewer yay. Coming back to Moto, the main thing I don't like about them is load of Moto apps kind of takes up a lot of storage, rest it is always good. I have a Moto X4 with 32 gb internal and after the Pie update it dropped to less than 10gb of available space :(, hope G7 will not echo the same.

With using gestures for navigation. If swiping up shows recent apps, how do you open the app drawer? I'm using G5Plus now and might switch to this now but when I swipe UP, the app drawer opens and swiping right opens recent apps. Thats why i dont get it haha
