What's with all the hate for this phone? I'm guessing none of you have actually used it. Price consideration aside, once you kind the Google Camera app (which does not require root), this phone is remarkably good. It's fine if you prefer Redmi or Xiami or Realmi devices because you think they offer better value for the money. But this phone is hardly garbage. @@officialhideyo so what you are saying is it's not garbage. You're saying it's overpriced relative to the competition. Fine and reasonable. Just be aware, Xiaomi, Redmi, Realmi, Poco - none of these devices work at all on all carriers here in the US including the #1 and #4 largest carriers. In addition, phones like Moto G7 uniquely work with Googe Fi, a really nice carrier. For those of us not living in a GSM-only world like you guys in India or Europe, the Moto G7 is *still* the best handset value by far.

The g7 is gr8 and I use it constantly. It runs games with no problem, charges quickly, multitasks, and works with google fi (fully.) The only downside for me was the lack of nfc, but in the big picture that's not a huge deal. I've used better phones and I've also used garbage phones. The Moto g7 is not garbage. This phone is a great choice if you use google fi and want to be able to take advantage of fi's main feature (network-switching for best possible coverage) at an affordable price and you also use your phone for gaming (including emulation), occasional photos and videos, video chat, social media, messaging, email, productivity apps, web browsing, etc. The g7 also has a nice, all-glass body rather than the plastic found on some other budget phones (including the new pixel 3a apparently).

I had a G7 Plus but I gave it up. It was so slow for the screen rotation and frequent no phone outgoing call connections or no incoming phone ring tones. The camera was good. This international model came with world wide radio tuner which was good as I listened often to the local radio stations.

@@pradeepkumar-st4ex Lenovo is starting to make money in their handset division. They do well in the budget/mid size handset market. Hardly dead. The truth is the business has never been as healthy. But their flagships are dead. The Z4 is a really good mid size but no flagship this year. I also think the Z4 might be the last one that will except moto mods which I will admit did poorly. The Z4 is a really good device. IMO, a better one then the new Pixel 3A XL. And they last forever. My moto Z play is still fast as hell and battery can still last 1.5 to 2 days after 3 years of use.

Just snagged a G7 64gb 4gb ram on black friday for $179! My wife and I've owned 4 Motos, all long lasting and dependable except my last one, a G5 plus (18 months old) which is being replaced by the G7. My G5's the only Moto which has given us problems (The wife's G4 Play still performs like new!). Over the past month my G5's rapidly getting slower and more erratic. Tech support tried to troubleshoot but the remedies they suggested I'd already tried to no avail. I hope the G7 lasts longer then the G5 plus.

I brought G4 two years ago. Several days before its battery was suddendly down. It takes a whole day to change! I try to change the battery myself. Then it never open again. It lets me not choose to turn to Huawei with only $189 with higher configuration and more pretty outlooking. More important, I have used 3 huawei before, they were all good before I update, the quality is amazing!

This video gives a great description of the G7's reality. FYI only, Typo (or Voiceo) at 1:33 or so. [Snapdragon xxx, with 4 "Megabytes" of ram] I watched the whole video, and gave it a thumbs up anyway. I have a G7 from Fi, $199 right now. Very fast compared to my old Nexus 6P. Lighter by several grams than the Pixel, but still a little hefty. Thinner than the Moto G6, which I also think is a very good phone. Nice job. Thank you.

That's one thing Moto does not get right is keeping features consistent across regions, well that, and too dang many sub models. they should have have a normal, and plus for each model number, and keep the the features the same across all regions, unless some country's government says otherwise.

Question on the G7 phone. Is there a way to turn off the Add Call feature. I notice when i call people on my G7 and i put my ear to the phone, my ear must be touching the Add Call feature and that takes you to my contact list. Then it starts dialing a number on my contact list while i'm talking to someone else. When you call someone on your G7 phone, you will see this Add call feature. Anyone know how to turn it off?

I have had the g7 for a months now and it is an awesome phone. The only thing to things I don't like are 1) the phone is made of glass. I dropped mine the first week I had it from only a foot off ground and both screen and back on phone shattered. I had to replace phone. Fortunately the phone was only $130 and same for replacement phone. And 2) there is no real selfie flash... Is just a lamb screen flash. Other than those two complaints... I think this is as good in everyway or better than my iPhone xr... even the camera image quality is as good or better. Though video auto focus is not good in low light on g7. Pictures are way better than on my lg v20...and I think they are better in day light than the Galaxy s8 my wife has...but s8 good at night. Anyway... The processor is super fast, the screen is awesome in everyway. Only one speaker... But it's plenty good and loud. I don't see any real reason whatever to spend more that this on cell phone. The competitors are not any better... They just charge more... Have good marketing to convince people to spend more for something that may be a millisecond faster. I was one of those stupid people spending $1000 on a phone that want any better really... But I woke up... Never doing that again... Sticking with company like Motorola where you get massive band for buck...

In India the moto g7 is priced at 17k rupees. Here you get a 3000 mah battery, snapdragon 632 chipset. Meanwhile xiaomi release their redmi note 7 pro for the same price but with a better snapdragon 675 processor, 6gb ram with 128gb storage and a 4000mah battery. I've had mine for 3 weeks now. Former Galaxy loyalist. It's a very good phone and is fast/responsive but be aware you'll probably be left with camera envy. One thing I really don't like is that the camera has a very brief pause prior to actually taking the shot. This is problematic for action shots (i.e. trying to take a photo of a moving toddler). Overall, great value for $300 but you won't get those great shots like you might with, say, Portrait Mode, with the iPhone.

Like I've personally being to the Mi Store which saw its grand opening last year and the RedMi crap has some of the creepiest, low quality plastic screens that I've seen. The only phone that is worth it from them is the actual Mi phones, if you throw software into the bin. With the Motos, Nokia, Samsung, or even Vodafone's own branded stuff, you at least get a screen that feels premium.

Ive had not a lot of phones compared w some. My fav phone was my razr the first one out pink flip phone. Ive had lg, ZTE, Samsung, Alcatel was the worst I don't know if it was bc it went off t mobile towers had it for about a month then switched. Tried boost bc claiming it would be 35$ a month but no starts you off at $75 then as you pay your bill you get it for lower price.. That lasted a month too. Switched over to straight talk been w them since. Mostly lower prices Samsung's. But I did really like my moto 3 I think it was. Now have a stylo 3 I've had for three years and looking to upgrade. Want cdma coverage since t mobile seems non existent in my area. Looking into moto g7 optimo maxx or moto e5 plus. Pros and cons please.

I got a Redmi Note 5 AI for 150 bucks for the 4/64 version. It almost has the same specs as this phone, the only problem is the software, MIUI is just not my thing.There are a lot of custom aosp/caf roms though.

I really get very upset that y'all allow speakers quality to slide by just because of cost. These are supposed to be phones, above all else. Call and general sound quality should be premium above every thing, cost not withstanding. It does no good to play games etc, if you sacrifice sound and picture quality.

The thing is this phone will go down in price in 6-1 year it will probably go down to 100-150$ which in that price it's completely worth it , I will be picking it up in a year or less

I'm thinking of downgrading from the Galaxy S8 to this. S8 has some pretty bad burn in and I'm so tired of looking at it. Aside from that the phone is great. Makes me sad to buy a new one but it's really annoying. I just don't know how well I'll do with such a downgrade. Anybody recently go from a flagship to budget phone?

Most people don't care about NFC, and even if they have it they hardly use, this phone is great at what it says is does, batter life as usual is great

i had the huawei mate 20 pro then something personal to do with the police happened to me which they took my phone. so i bought this one and ngl it surprised me i have the g7 Power

There are better phones around the same price point, with slightly better features ..but none of them have moto gestures which is the big sell point for me. G7 plus also has a better speaker, camera and processor than the g7 for around $250 right now
