No more gone than last year, they upgraded the SoC to an actual 600 series chip, increased the size of the phone (not a fan of this part), made the screen bigger, and doubled the Storage, that's not too bad for a $50 increase.

@@grand.central the competition is huge and 2gb of ram for anything above $150 ain't gonna cut it. An imported Chinese phone has 4gb ram and SD 632 with dual cameras for $200 and now Samsung has also released m series which is surprisingly way way better than moto's offering.

I have to agree with most other comments on here. There's an awful lot of very good, relatively inexpensive phones on the market so the Moto G7 doesn't stand much chance with these specs. I realise not everyone uses it, but no NFC is insane in 2019.

If only Xiaomi could be more open the world, more people will think like that. The fact here is that I tried to use the Poco F1 in the Dominican Republic, where all the carriers use Band 4 for LTE and AWS for 4G and none of those bands are supported by the Poco. I had no choice but to return it to the seller. Same thing happened with the RedMi Note 7.

If you wanna go a more recent route, nokie 6.1 2018 you can get for 150 dollars or even cheaper. And it has android one with 3 gigs of ram with 1080p screen as well. So you're mistaken if you think this is the most budget option out there.

I listen to music and read ebooks on my phone - that it. Between the battery and the screen being a bit on the low end, that thing is gonna go for quite a while.

Last good Moto phone was the Xpure, but that had it's dibacle with OS updates. X4 was a good budget phone but lost all resemblance of the X series without there being motomaker.

Back in the days, I owned the Moto G (1st version with 4.5" screen) and I still own a Moto X Play (since 2015) as my secondary device. Both of them are well built, still smooth phones and give more expensive phones at their times a run for their money. I feel bad for Motorola now. Lenovo really messed it up :(

I'm in US but ordered G7 Plus ($369) international version, I'll void warranty anyway by rooting so doesn't matter, use AT&T. It has a 636, stereo speakers like my old Moto Pure & lacking on current G5 Plus, better/bigger HD+ screen, better ac wifi, BT 5.0, 27W charging, glass back, and NFC lacking on these models. I'm not a heavy user & like the Moto features, if released in US would cost at least $350 so am getting a decent price.

Before Xr: 720p in 2018 is unacceptable. Please DIE if you ever put 720p display on a phone. After Xr: 720p displays on phones are the best!!! It seems to me that the guy in this video tried not to trash Motorola for some reason. I can understand the G7 Play with a 720p screen but all other models should have FHD+, especially the G7 Power were the huge battery would easily handle a hi res display. The notch is unecessary if you make the bottom bezel that large! Also, not everybody likes huge 6.2" screens, I prefer a 5.7" with higher pixel density, the smaller phone size fits better in the hand

Well I'm going to complain when as a long time Moto user the specs on the G7 plus are about the same as my G5 plus, and cost more. I only paid $225 for my unlocked G5 plus with 4GB of RAM 64GB Storate, Ocotocore SOC, finger print reader, etc...

@@CommodoreFan64 I had an essential phone which is miles ahead of Moto phones in terms of design and specs and when it broke I got the Moto G6 over the g5plus because it had a better build, a bigger 18 by 9 display and usbc. I don't miss the performance on my essential phone it works just as well tbh. The only thing I miss is updates because on the essential phone I got them the same day as the pixel. Motorola sucks at updates now. Otherwise they are good.

Honestly too much to be considered a good deal anymore. I don't even know why they're making 720p phones in 2019. I would rather buy a last gen flagship or save up for a Oneplus. I could get a oneplus 5 for $340, and get the support, accessories, and quality of oneplus phones for $40 more than the 'budget' moto g7. I have the moto g5 plus right now, but I think it's gonna be my last from the moto g line.
