I bought the STR version one month ago for a motorcycle trip in the Philippines. The suspension is incredibly plush, and considering its price point, it is an absolute steal. The Brembo brakes are top notch, great feel and stops on a dime as Brembo should. The 2 channel ABS works very well. Riding the muddy mountain roads after a typhoon last week, the ABS did what it was supposed to do on 3 occasions. Twice it was the rear that activated and once it was the front. The handling was/is on par with my Ducati Scrambler and better than my Diavel 1260S in the US; even with my pillion and 35 kg of baggage. This thing carves mountain roads and I guarantee it will put a smile on your face. It is well planted and responsive, never vague; even with my pillion and 35kgs of baggage. Don't knock this engine. It does not have the raw snap of a Ducati, but it is very peppy. It pulls from down low 2500 rpm without a whimper or knock, and it accelerates quickly from 3700 rpm up to 7500. It doesn't have that top end hp that armchair spec freaks crave, but it has more than enough power to do the job. In 30 days, we put 2200 km on it. I don't regret buying it. The suspension and brakes are something that puts other midsized ADV and naked bikes to shame. We cranked up the shock preload, ran 50% sag with gear. Dialed in the compression and rebound to let the hydraulics do their job. Incredibly plush yet so well planted I can't say enough good about it.

Nice. 2023 SCR at 5,500 Miles in the U.S. Very pleased with mine. Seeing few more dealers handling the Morini line. Suzuki of Tulsa is one, I'm in okc.

Good to see the Morini brand name back on the market. Really liked the 3 .5s back in the day-70s/80s? Never knock something that’s well made for people who are on a tight budget or who don’t want to spend a lot in the first place. Green paint job is very attractive. Any good for green landing?

Build quality looks good. Equipment level too for the price. It's a shame they didn't take the opportunity to tweak the ER6 derived unit and give it a 270° crank but I suppose that would have increased production costs and ultimately the price of the bikes 🤔. I'll take the Scrambler please 👍

Not every motorcycle has to have a 270 degree crank you know. Other crank configs provide great engines with torque+ especially 360 degree cranks. I'd love to see more variety on the road, not wall to wall, boring, 270 cranks.

@@aussiesam01 quite true Sam and variety is the spice of life. The 865 Bonneville engine - like those that came before had a 180 - some prefer the different character. When the first "Scrambler" version came out, Triumph changed it to 270 and they stayed with this till the current crop of parallel twins. I had a 1st gen Versys with the ER6 motor and that was a 180. I found it sounded a bit boring. But that's just me 👍

If I wanted a moderately powered modern classic I’d buy that SCR over any of the Bonneville 900 variants from Triumph. I don’t, but if I did, I wouldn’t even think twice about it.

They tried to revive the 1200V-twin on a big relaxed retro naked called “Milano”, shown at the EICMA in Milan a couple of years ago, but then they never managed to bring it to the market. I hope what you heard is true and they let the mighty 1200 engine come back! 👍🏻

Saw it couple of weeks ago in salon next to Suzuki bikes. Compared to sv650 and V-Strom they should be cheaper to convince me to buy them instead of Suzuki, Yamaha or any other...

this SCR or the Caballero 500????

Caballero is more off-road oriented, it’s not a corner carver, but it packs load of personality, more than this Seiemmezzo. Morini by the way has just released the new Caballero 700 twin, available spring 2023 here in Italy, don’t know when they will release it in the UK.

Cool bikes and it's great to have more entry level (speaking of cost) bikes available (now if quality e-bikes would get cheaper). At what point does a brand's continuum get broken? While these are branded Moto Morini, do they have anything to do with MM prior to 2018? Seems to me it's smart marketing only. Nothing new there, for sure ... but I'm not buying that these are worthy of MM lore.

Just had to Google the spelling of sacrilege. Morini Corsaro and 3 1/2 sport were on my dream garage list but now it's just another brand that Chinese profit mongers have ripped the soul out of. A real shame regardless of any quality issues but probably just the way things are now. Good review though.

These bikes look ok, but to my way of thinking a vertical twin with a 180 degree crank, sounds more like two small singles racing each other than just one middle sized bike. I have never liked the way Japanese do that with their twins. The only ones l can think of that is a 3 60 degree crank, are the xs650 yam and the tx 750 yam of the 1970's. Horses for courses though isn't it.

Contrary to your armchair analysis, I rode mine for 2200km this month and the engine is silky smooth, no vibrations, solid bottom end power, peppy midrange plus good fuel economy since it is Euro 5

To me they are not cheap, especially when you compare them to bikes like the Honda Hornet. If you have enough money to think they are cheap you would most probably buy a premium motorcycle anyway.
