This short film gives a brief insight into the unique Ferrari Dino 3.6 litre V8 upgrade package by Moto Technique. This car is the result of collaboration with David Lee of the Hing Wa Lee Group, California and Andy Cohen of Beverly Hills Motoring. The unique upgrade is "Bolt-on, Bolt-off" using original and genuine Ferrari parts and gives this amazing car the potential it always had, along with modern day performance, handling and reliability, whilst respecting and keeping the cars original charm and characteristics. As Kevin O'Rouke says himself: "The Dino's Ferrari DNA is ingrained and permanent" Jay Leno describes this car as "As nice a restored as I've ever seen...a Brilliant car"

If this is regarded as a gauntlet thrown down in terms of making a work of art better the bar has been set ridiculously high. This is outstanding.

THIS vehicle embodies everything I adore in a Ferrari or any sports car. Tight, responsive, and lightweight chassis. Naturally aspirated, high-revving, responsive engine with a rowdy shrieking note. Not the quickest or fastest, but a joy to drive.!! ❤❤👍🏼

Simply amazing work by the Moto Technique team. This run of 10 Dino EVO editions (or at least proposed) will be sought after not because of the performance, but because of the painstaking attention to detail in making everything else work to perfection.

Back in early 1980 I have a choice to buy Dino for about the same price Lotus but I always a have a deep love for Lotus Esprit so went for it no regret super handling car much fun. Dino would have been a great investment when you get old and look back. But in life you live once follow your passion if Ferrari calling than you must go.

We agree with you, the perspex engine cover is one of our favourite details and it works perfectly. Classic cars reflect the spirit and technology of its time, they must be as original as possible. That is not a Dino, is something else. The most valuable cars for a true collector are the original ones
@mototechnique1282
@mototechnique1282 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. If you collect cars just because you are interested in their value only, then yes have a totally original unrestored Dino, but remember that these cars are now approaching 50 years of age and there are not many unrestored original examples left. If on the other hand you would like to imagine the ultimate evolution and potential of what this wonderful design of probably one of the most beautiful sports cars of all time could be and what can be achieved in terms of speed, handling, safety, braking, feel and reliability with modern technology, whilst retaining all the characteristics of the original, then we would suggest that this could be the answer. It's not for everyone and we understand that, but we truly believe that we have created the ultimate evolution of the Dino and that it's now the car that it always had the potential to be, whilst totally respecting the original car and its philosophy.

Thank you for your kind words. It would take a lot of time and expense to make the 17 inch Cormodora wheels fit my original Dino 3.2 Restomod. But, I really like the 360 wheels even if they are not period correct. People who don't like them can always fit what they like to their own Dinos. 😉

I think the ultimate Dino would have a V12 in it. Now that's got me thinking.

I know they'd be expensive even as a series, but I can't believe there would not be a market for quite a few more of these.

Mudpuppyjunior in the Jay Leno video, David Lee says he has commissioned 25 of these and he will control who they are sold to. Is that true?

Can't believe that you paid so much attention to detail over this car, as you stress in the video, but you spelt beleive (sic) wrong in the Jay leno quote at the end. LOL!

Yes, we noticed it too late too. Its all the fault of our film maker!! But, we'd like to point out that there are people in this world who are brilliant at spelling and experts in grammar, unfortunately they are not very good at Restomoding Dino 246's. 😉👍🏼

Not sure I would have used the 350 wheels.. maybe until I can get some custom BBS LM in champagne, or custom built Dino wheel. Just my opinion. I did have the opportunity to drive a couple different Dino's, should have bought one when they were not that expensive in the early 90's

On the original Dino 300bhp restomod we did not really have much choice and this is explained fully in the film. On the David Lee 400bhp car with an unlimited budget we were able to develop and update the Campagnolo originals to 17 inches to accommodate the bigger callipers and brakes.
