I have a 78 moby non variated 50 and i have the gurtner carb on there and its been solid so far, i just took the time to clean absolutly everything and soak the carb body itself. The thing people dont like about the gurtners is that they are not easy to to tune with different jets. My friend also has a 80 with a gurtner that ran great after a rebuild kit from supermopeds i believe

Yeah. Some people swear by those Gurtners. My experience with these two are that they are finicky. And I don't like that I can't tune them. To make matters worse, I cleaned out the jets by ramming some copper wire into them, and I think I bored them out some, so now they are even worse. I'll be digging more into the carbs in the next episode. The paint is close, but not exact. I notice it, but only because I am looking for it and I'm picky about it. My brother said he couldn't tell the difference. I looked on the cans to see if I could find the formula for you, but they don't have a sticker. I got them mixed at Sherwin-Williams Automotive and I just took a piece of the bike in there and turned it over and let them do their thing. $40 gets you two spray cans and a couple ounces more so that you can touch up with a brush. One spray can was enough to do 5-6 good coats on one set of panels. Its funny that you recommend Lucky Two Strokes. Thats where I bought one of those sets of side panels. I also bought a used A35 case from them. Both were great deals and fast shipping. I like that palce. I looked at their decals, but they seem to be just for tanks. Maybe I could buy a set and cut to fit? Not sure. I think the correct decal for my bikes would be straight silver with 'Mobylette' written on the front at the very top. I've seen the ones from the late 70s for sale, with the diagonal stripes ( \\ \\ \\ ), but those wouldn't match mine. If I can't find the correct ones, I'll prolly just keep it yellow. It should run at something like 45km/h. At least, that is how fast they run in the Netherlands. Changing de carb to a dellorto probably increases the top speed by 0km/h. The carb isn't the limiting factor. Assuming your Gurtner is a 12mm carb. Could you try something for me with this Gurtner carb? Try braking violently when going down hill until you reach 0km/h. Watch what the engine does. It probably shuts down even when applying full throttle at the end of braking.

David Fixes His Shit mine runs about 31 ish flat out but i just found out today that my piston is toast so you might be a bit faster. But also just to say i love your detailed videos that go over everything, its hard to find vids like yours on these mopeds. Keep up the awesome work the bikes look great!

And what brand and part number was the spray paint you used on the side covers? And how well do the colors match up in person? It looks great in the video!

Also if your looking for some original stickers to put on those side covers i would recomend and looking at lucky two strokes website they have alot of original moby parts and those stickers and everything else you might need
