I have heard about people who use their factory XJ fuel pumps in their motobilt fuel cells, having problems with breaking pumps. This happened to me and I found out why and a potential way to avoid this issue going forward.
At the normal height. The factory xj pump is just about 11.75" tall from the mounting surface to the lowest part of the pump housing. The fuel cell has a height of 12". This .25" difference will allow the pump to separate causing your vehicle to have a no-start condition.
