They need to rotate the radiator and take the exhaust down both sides of the rear wheel on the 1100 Rebel. The current layout just does not look good for adding hard bags. Everything just looks off on this bike. They really need to look at the Indian Scout/Springfield layout to sell more of these.

Yes, it could look a little better but it's more expensive to get the Springfield type of look. I think Honda wants to give you good performance in a cruiser at a fairly cheap price point.

I have the Rebel 1100DCT and I agree about the low speed handling. It is always a bit challenging pulling up to a gas pump. It is even more challenging doing a tight radius U-turn. Throttle control is touchy. When you take off in a tight space requiring a turn, keep feet down. Other than that I love the bike overall.😎
@EvanEdwards2 ай бұрын
Which is odd, as people often say to use the rear brake at low speeds, which would keep your feet up. I have been waiting on the 2025 announcement to get one. I half thought it would be another "nearly identical" model and I'd just get a 2023/2024 sitting in a dealership. Turns out, it's worth it. Especially since I had sat on one with a forward control kit and thought it would be necessary given my height. I'll have to give the new triangle a go before modifying.

I have to admit I don't like the new dash. I'd rather have a pair of analog gauges for the speedometer and tachometer with maybe a small LCD displays at the bottom of each one with a few small tidbits of information like clock, engine temp, gear indicator, fuel gauge, and odometer. If there's enough room on the small display you can throw in the volts. I should count my blessings though... It appears at least they didn't make a throttle by wire yet.

@jlrutube13122 ай бұрын
My last two bikes were shaft. I hated that little bit of play in the works that shafts have which gives you that little bit of lash when you go on and off the throttle. I have a chain bike now and I am enjoying it more in spite of the extra work involved. Of course, if you let the chain get loose you will have the lash too. I had a belt bike once and it was probably the best of all options. You only have to replace a belt probably once or twice in the entire life of the bike. Plus it has no lash and no mess.

Be nice if Honda considered "touring" to be something of actual mileage. Their tank capacity is 3.6 gallon. I'm sorry, but anything short of 17L isn't going to be too touring inspired. Such a shame the 1100 isn't A2 compliant. Almost all Harley's softail lineup is A2 compliant, so are all the Indian scouts (aside from the 101). I'm getting into riding soon and I am NOT interested in smaller bikes like the 500 when there are options like the scouts and sportsters. Granted they cost more, but that's not really the point when you're looking for cruisers. What is the audience for this rebel 500 ? I have seen a few where I live and they all look so small and cramped. Not that the 1100 is that much larger but at least it doesn't feel like a toy (again, compared to the competition when you're looking for mid-size cruisers). And it has all the bells and whistles like DCT that the 500 hasn't. I thought Honda would take the chance of the update to make its bigger sibling also A2 as to offer something to grind. But no, you younglings should stick with bikes that can't go on the highway for more than a minute, unless you want to ride an ADV of course. Then, options are virtually unlimited. Sigh.
@Hondadctrider2 ай бұрын
Where do you get the idea that the Rebel 500 can't be ridden on the highway?

Well I've seen a few vlogs and reviews discouraging this. I suppose you mileage may vary depending where you're from, but in Europe a sustained 130 km/h on highways doesn't look like a pleasant ride, neither for the bike or the rider. You need a bit more oomph and comfort
