I am a Ducati Fan for 40 years and I am lucky to own two Ducati bikes which I love to bits. This one here leaves me speechless because I don't see one reason why I should invest in it. No Desmo, world's ugliest exhaust which looks like the handles of a wheelbarrow, displacement downgrade, torque downgrade, power downgrade. Guys, that's not a Panigale. And honestly, I don't know why it deserves to carry the Ducati badge on it. Call it "cost-saving, profit-maximizing lookalike at all cost".
@moritz874521 сағат бұрын
I'm a huge Ducati fan my selve, got a 1200 Mobster R and love it, but the v2 didn't sell. In Europe it cost up to 25k for the standard, which made a lot of people skip it and get the v4 straight away. And you don't need desmo on 120HP. So it's more accessible to non Ducatisti. But I agree looks wise the can do better. And definitely better an the streetfighter.
@mo2g7099 сағат бұрын
Power/weight ratio is perfect for the street. Also is the slightly more comfortable sitting position. If you want a trackbike get the v4, if you want a great street bike get this one.
@snowcrash4043 сағат бұрын
I think this comment is nonsense. I also own a Ducati and I don't care if my street bike has a Desmo or not. For many people that will be a reason to buy one. As for the exhaust, there will be a lot of after-market exhausts if you don't like this one. 120 horsepower is more than enough for the street. I see people every day with a big V4, boxer or whatever - 180hp plus and 95% can't ride those bikes at all. I'm really looking forward to this bike, thank you Ducati.

The primary positive I see is it won’t cook your balls off. Improved electronics. Otherwise, downgrading the HP numbers so dramatically seems like a move in the right direction. I really liked this bridge as a happy medium between a V4 and something like new like the R9.

A lot of people don’t understand that this bike was made just so Ducati can race in super sport, they don’t care about what the customer wants. Or maybe they do understand, people like to overpay for a brand name to flex, accepting bad value in return. A zx6r, cbr600rr and r9 was always going to provide better value, but this is getting super obvious now the brand is not holding to its heritage because if corporate greed. What does this bike do better? It’s better for around town for posing? That light weight will get you tossed around on the highway unless you weigh 300 pounds. It’s good in the twisters, but so are others, for far cheaper, and will do it better while looking way nicer. Ducati, this is a shitty direction you have taken, and it’s sad no one is going to have the balls as a content creator to say it, because they will want their things surely in the future. I won’t buy a Ducati, I hope Honda comes out with that v3 and takes all the sales

I am glad I picked up a 950 Super Sport S when I did. I just don't get Ducati's thinking on this........if I am gonna own a twin it better be torquey as hell....this new engine just seems like a compromise so they can get rid of the Super Sport but then dumb down the previous V2 Panny. Although I am not a fan of the current V2.....absolutley no torque at all. The Super Sport is a much better road bike. I wish they would have just beefed up the Testy engine and kept the Super Sport and retired the V2 Panny. Now you just have a choice of two uncomfortable race bikes for the road.
@funkyfin3023Күн бұрын
This is all about weight loss and torque for the road not the track, 70% available at 3,000 revs. There is no point having power higher up the Rev range as on the old bike, it has to be detuned for SuperSports.
@chrisvantassel8867Күн бұрын
@@funkyfin3023 I agree but will it be better than the 15 year proven Testastretta? Also, the riding position on the Super Sport is the key.....who needs a race riding position on the street? The engine is optimized for more torque under a wider range of RPMs which makes it more friendly/useful for street riding. It seems like Ducati is further differentiating the Panigale V4 and V2 by making the V4 high horse power, high revving, but fairly lack luster acceleration at low RPMs, with aggressive track optimized riding position. Whereas V2 is now a more relaxed street friendly position, along with more street friendly accessible torque at lower RPMs

Not a fan of the looks. The cat is exposed and looks ugly. The exposed header in the current model is a real feature. Generally the current model looks a lot sleeker, and although the double sided swingarm is supposed to enhance handling, the single sided swingarm looks so much better. I expect with it's low weight, good low rev torque, fuel gauge and more comfortable ergonomics, it will attract a lot of new customers who want a sporty looking road bike, but I think it has lost its Panigale character. Will be interesting to see how it performs on the track and road.
