I bought the Helinox chair one step above. It’s a little longer and won’t fit in my saddle bag but it fits in my dryspec I put on the passenger seat. The bag it comes with turns into a head rest once you stuff a shirt in it. The back is long enough to support your head. You can actually sleep in it. Love their stuff I have the table too

My favorite night cap is a fat bowl of Northern Lights/Skunk #1 and and a couple shots of Jack fire
@baldandbiking4 жыл бұрын
Just some added tips for ya. You could put your beer cans in the river in a shady spot to cool them down, just make sure they are secure. You need a windscreen for your pocket rocket burner or it can literally take an hour to boil water if there is a breeze. I always make room for one decent ceramic mug, drinking out of a hot metal container can be dicey, and it goes cold within minutes. For a nightcap "nip" I bring a small whiskey flask with some decent scotch in it and have a few sips by the fire. If you don't like scotch you can put whatever you like in it, like you did with peppermint schnapps. Glad you had good weather!

Thanks for sharing. I like moto camping but I don't bother with cooking. Too much stuff to bring and not enough space in the saddle bags. Rather just eat meals out and maybe bring some trail mix for the night, and a few Michelob Ultras. I carry a small collapsable cooler and get beer and ice right before pitching camp. Keep riding!

Hi Luke. Great video! Really like your relaxed way of camping. You have a very relaxed outlook and have lots of great ideas. I watch a lot of videos such as yours because I enjoy they same type of camping, either on my '14 H-D Ultra pulling a Bushtec trailer or on my '01 F650GS. When watching these videos, I sometimes watch Google Earth Pro to follow their journeys which led to something interesting. Looks like you went through Myers and traveled about 6 miles further East to the small town of Hysham. I found the little store that you went into called The Friendly Corner which is on the corner of Elliot Ave. and Buford St.. Looks like the town of Myers is right along the river and consists of a residence and a couple of buildings. Loved the way that you described Hysham and the towns people. I got the same impression when you were in the store and the gentleman talked to you as he was getting his beer. Thanks again for the great videos! Wayne from Tehachapi, California.

Bought the chair and table about a year ago ..best thing ever for mc camping. Also have the same stove but only set it on the ground as I find the little fingers too small to safely support the pot..other than that it's great.

Great vids , I too am starting to moto camp after lock down! As for fishing just a little rod and reel and a one tray for lures is all you need you have to eat them catch and release is also fun , time waster.. have you looked in to building a small tag along trailer for the bike, I did and it not heavy, ( harbour freight) pine floor and top it of with a used car top carrier light weight and works great ..wish I could send a pic.ride safe happy camping from Ontario

several people have made comments about the chair complaint. Tennis balls. If anyone is looking at these chairs there are several manufactures now that have larger flat footprints on their chairs to take care of this problem. Also, the second chair complaint. Thanks for the video. Very well made. I camp like this on my solo trips. I have a question, do you ever consider a bigger touring bike? You seem to do great on the Vulcan, you have it well sorted out but do you ever wish for a more touring oriented bike instead of a cruiser? awesome videos man, some really great insights I learned from you. I'm not too experienced with camping but is there a danger from wild animals in BLM camp site areas? I wouldnt want to wake up with a bear clawing at my face
@LukeOnTheRoad8 жыл бұрын
This BLM site had information about the local area at the entrance, which included a list of of the local wildlife. Luckily there were no predators in the area, which I thought was odd given how close I was to Yellowstone. I'm not sure if all BLM land has the same information but it's a nice thing to know when camping by yourself!

Well I hope you get the opportunity. It's a great experience. I'd say the biggest worry for me was the weather. I think a bad storm is far more dangerous than the chances of a bear attack. Just be sure to plan your ride ahead and keep checking your radar for storms. But be sure to get some bear spray just in case :)
