I like the sound of "Liquor Treating". Right up there with the riding mower pub crawl.

I'm also in SoCal and will commute daily on the s1000rr until temperatures dip into the 40's. Back in England before I moved to the US I'd have a winter "beater bike" for the cold months. I've ridden a GS with snow tires and it's remarkable how capable those bikes are!

Riding and racing season here is essentially Memorial Day to Labor Day. I rode after work into October. My Monster keeps my low center warm enough w/ thermal underwater.

It is a great bike for Anchorage, AK. Mostly use it for commuting and riding after work. Distance rides are good but not great. Building back up my skills after not riding for many years after my son was born. Love your 1299. It is my dream bike. But, I have to say the new Super Sport is a great bike too! Love the vids

Get a First Gear heated jacket with glove liners and extend your riding season a month to either side of the season. In Boston I would ride until the first major snow storm.

I live in Cali there’s no riding seasons here but I don’t ride when it’s 112 degrees out but it never gets below 55 here in the daytime during winter.

Moto Dutchman Ya I have a 2015 R1 and I don’t want it to over heat either so yet another reason not to ride when it’s sizzling outside.

North Florida here. I bought my new bike in early February and rode it home that evening from the dealership in Daytona in 70-degree weather. That was admittedly an unusually warm day, but even in January temps can break 70. I wouldn't even know how to go about storing a bike for winter.

Moto Dutchman: I took a nice long ride down State Road A1A (which basically follows Florida's Atlantic coast from near the Georgia border all the way down to Key West) most of the way to Daytona. I may do the same ride tomorrow since it's supposed to be sunny and near 80. Such is life in Florida in December. :) Now that I've gotten back into motorcycling, I'm not sure I could ever be happy living somewhere witj an actual winter.

I rode home this morning 32-36° for a 40 minute ride at 80mph. My hands were pretty bad. I've got Oxford heated grips on order because the ducati ones are 330$ vs 80$... I can ride pretty cold but it's always my hands that give out. I did the old reach over with your left hand to do the throttle and tuck your hand under the tank kinda dangerous

Totally ride all the way until the teens. As long as there’s no ice, I’m out on one of 5 bikes.. have to say though the Gerbing 12v heated liners make it like a late spring early summer day.. totally worth the investment

Moto Dutchman you were spot on going with the Oxford grips as I’ve got them on all my bikes.. but the liners and gloves by gerbing takes the edge off that the heated grips don’t address

Moto Dutchman Ok, I see... so Moto Hillbilly for tractor vlogs and Moto Butchman will be your cooking channel. Let's develop a KitchenAid meat grinder attachment for a Ducati engine and make millions!!!
