Because that bike has a trad shaped Guzzi tank, and two round headlights, instead of transformer, mutant, insect looks, it is a fine looking motorcycle. Lose the ride by wire and rider modes and TFT screen replaced with analogue clocks and it would be even better. Love it, well done Mandello Del Lario!

Jamie - what a great video! The production value is fantastic. From the sound to the wheel shots to the laziness by the campfire - it takes the viewer right there. I think Moto Guzzi has you to thank for showing off the rough-road capabilities of a bike that so many reviewers essentially dismiss as maybe being able to take on a nice fire trail, but not much more. The sound quality was excellent with that V-twin thumping through loud and clear. I think I’ll be headed to my Guzzi dealer soon!

Awesome way to sell this bike Jamie!!! Ridden the way it was intended. Too many people complain about adv bikes saying they are too bike to take off road. Yep they are right. But taken on the roads like you have in this vid is what they are made for. No way you would get a sports tourer or bigger up those tracks. I actually didn't think the guzzi would be that good to be honest. No doubt there are better bikes for that riding but they aren't guzzi's. I think this would make a great alternative to a vstrom and with that shaft drive it might be the better option. I would't trade my 1190 for it nor would I buy one over some other bike but I'm now a fan of this bike. It's actually in a class of it's own. Love it!

Alot of people don't get this type of riding which is why adv bikes are often a joke to many who haven't ridden one. everybody has been given a diet of sports bikes or dirt bikes. The market in between has always existed but it was small and full of compromises. But now it's the fastest growing category because people from both sides of riding are realising they can have their cake an eat it too. A big bike like this is, on these kinds of roads is as much fun as a 2 stoke on a snotty single trail or a super bike on a race track.

I love the Guzzi but don't understand why a) you don't think a GS could've done the same trip and b) why you decided GSs are "boring".
@MikeBikeOriginal4 жыл бұрын
@@couttsy222 it absolutely could, dont misunderstand. But they are almost twice as expensive (bmw are master in selling expensive extras), which makes for a hefty repair bill so mostly pampered around. GS is a 55+, wealthy white mans bike. Not a bad machine, but just such a dreary sight and seldomly used to do stuff like that. No offense, just not for me (yet?)
@couttsy2224 жыл бұрын
@@MikeBikeOriginal - Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I got my first GS when I was in my thirties (an 1150) and still have it with 200,000kms on it. I currently also have a 1250 and do fall into your presumed demographic but it gets used on ALL surfaces in whatever terrain comes my way. It's capability is amazing and I wouldn't hesitate to take it on the roads in video (and worse) -- but I'd remove the panniers! The trap is, it's all about image, which I despise. People will buy -- or refuse to buy -- a GS because of it's image rather than it's ability. This video was also trying to paint an image to a certain sort of motorcyclist -- the urban "wish-I-could-do-that" dreamer. Dreaming is fine, but I'm doing rather than dreaming! (well, except for this %$#@!! Covid virus). PS: I still love the Guzzi and when I need to get a smaller bike as I get older, that is what I aspire to! :-) Enjoy the ride!

Great video of my old stomping grounds. Really nicely put together. The city squidly riding is bad mojo man. Makes cars pissed at motorcyclists. Not supposed to lane share at speed like that, no one’s glued to their rear view watching for you, they’re looking ahead. Don’t be upset or surprised if someone cuts you off. Not if but when. Aaaand I gotta say it, on those trails at that speed, be ready to launch off the trail when an ATV or Jeep comes whipping around the corner. Happens up there all the time.

There is a dirt road in the back of Pine mountain that takes you all the way to Ojai perfect for an adventure bike. The general store in Pine mountain club is not that great, but not too far in Frazier park close to the 5 freeway, there is an mazing restaurant called the Red Dot....the food is beyond good. The views from Cerro Noreste are great, I go in hikes with my dog there all the time, and nearby you also have mount Pinos as you turn in the s curve towards Pine mountain Club. Cool thing is that you can be there is less than an hour an half from Los Angeles but in the winter be ready for snow and tough road conditions.

@@markbrown2885 I google the sites. You get results for the agencies that manage them. Not only tells you if open or closed, typically they include amenities available, directions, maps, etc. Even during "good times", a campground might be closed for maintenance, hazards, etc. Some campgrounds require reservations and use second party providers for that. I look for dispersed sites when possible (just google dispersed camping....there are a couple of websites that list them all over the US).
