MotoGP Silverstone: 2 wins, pole & a lap record racing a Superstock BMW

At the weekend MotoGP came to Silverstone for the British round and as in other countries on the GP calendar, the local championship was part of the support races.
As it was the Monster Energy GP and our team is supported by Monster, we were invited to take part in the British Superstock support races.
We already had superstock bikes from the Isle of Man TT so we swooped to the controlled pirelli tyres and took part, coming away with 2 wins, pole and a new lap record.
Although we were here a few weeks ago for the Monster Energy track day of legends the bikes were still in TT spec with Dunlop tyres etc so we didn’t actually get to test the British stock spec bikes before the event and the last time BSB raced the full GP circuit here was 2017, so it was awesome to race here again in front of the GP crowd!

Diplomatic way of saying the lack of results in BSB is down to the bike and not the riders but the proper fans knew this. So good to see you do this, must be a big confidence boost. Shame it had to take place somewhere with less atmosphere than the moon thanks to Silverstone's comedy pricing which encourages people to find something else to do on a Moto GP weekend.

Superstock is a class designed to allow riders and teams with a lower budget to race at a decent standard. I was at silverstone and was a bit miffed at the Superbike class riders entering the round, regardless of them being invited. All it does is take points from those racing in the series full time

Personally I feel BSB is outdated with there "no electronics" rules, its hindering the top riders from making the step up required to be competitive in the international stage as they have little to no experience with theses aids that are now vital to bike setup. Superstock needs to replace the superbikes class.

Do you not think its purer and makes it more about there skill? All the rider aids in wsb, to not go that much quicker? And to me moto gp have too much? + would it make bsb more expensive with aids? Having a specialist softwear engineer then makes teams with most money the best?

It's not cheating, sometimes small things get overlooked. I can't remember precisely but years ago they took a win off I think Karl Muggeridge in WSS for his rear axle being a few grams too light even when the whole bike met the weight requirements. I'm not saying cheating doesn't exist, but what they pinged Josh and Hicky for wasn't anything to give them any advantage.
