I’ve finally bought an oem 91 low hour kx500 at 45yesrs old with 3 young kids , when I went looking at it at the thing was kicked up I just thought omg walk away what are you doing 😮 and I’ve rode bikes all my life , even just looking at it brings a smile to your face knowing you own one ❤

Never rode a KX 500, but did ride my Brother In-law's CR500 quite a bit, def a beast of a motor.

Im 58 and have a 86 kx 500 i love riding it so much power and torque, love the way you sit into the bike and not on top of it, seat is so comfortable and makes it nice to ride i get lots of nice comments about it

I used watch Jeff ward kick ass on a kx500. Used wonder how does he ride it. Five foot six 135 pounds. I was that size on a 80.

As a smaller sized man, I was always the smallest dude racing the 500 class. I was much quicker on 250’s, but I didn’t care. There is nothing like pulling a one-wheel holeshot and wheelying in every gear! I had a Pro-Circuit port and pipe, and still wanted more power! It was intoxicating! I had to learn to ride with a boner!

I owned one for a year or two back in about 91 , it was awesome, good power, big sound burrp burrp, I even did pretty good in a 2 hour , hare and hound .

I wish Kawasaki would have followed suit with their 500s in the 90s. Don’t get me wrong the outdated 500 looked good but it would have looked so much better in a square perimeter framed chassis with better plastics.

If I had an extra kx500'engine I'd put it in my 1st gen atc250r. Mount radiator like 82 yz250 on front forks.
