i´ve been around on youtube for several years and revisitied my old musical heroes, starting with my first fave band from the 60s, the who, then moving onward through the decades up to now, mainly to show them to my daughter (15) - i think she ought to know at least the most important of them - well, there are galore since then, haha... what i actually want to say - everywhere i read the comments of the people of my age (61) and older, and the majority of them complain bitterly, that the good times are over and that there is no good music played anymore since the 70s (some stretch it to the early 80s) - when i try to talk to them and say almost exactly what "scorcerer" says here, they harrumph scournfully at me, or ignore me completely - what a pity, they don´t know what they´re missing... it´s great to explore youtube and the world of music: "all" times, "all" countries, "all" styles or genres or whatever you want to call it... :-) love and greetings from germany

Brilliant. In love with these. It's pretty clear now where much of the inspiration came from for the chiptune music on all our favorite NES and SNES games. Listening to these feels like I'm getting to hear my favorite OSTs in HiFi - stuff like Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger - the first track is totally the predecessor to the forest tune in Chrono Trigger. I wonder if Mitsuda, Kikuta, Uematsu, Hamase, and Yoshumura knew each other or spent time together. Like Coltrane and Monk did in the late 50s.

@@nahumaraujo8626 dunno what you talking about. Nice song from the 70s Argentinean psychedelic movement, but with little resemblance to Japanese 80s ambient (that heavily relied on synthesizers), let alone Mitsuda's Secret of the Forest
