From the looks of heavy equipment and trucks, that was an ongoing logging road... OR some similar resource-harvesting operation... LOTS of dangerous equipment around those places where "just goofing around on a trailbike" can get you killed. Old guy's angry that some dumb-ass punk is about to get himself messed up and then try to sue the company for the "blatant hazards on company property"... Maybe not the punk, himself, but everybody's got family and in the eyes of family (all too often) the dumb-ass punks can't do any wrong. It's infuriating, and a good way to get shot in my area. Be careful where you ride, including looking out for gates across otherwise "random roads" and signs... whether they read "No Trespassing, violators will be shot, survivors will be shot again" or just "Posted"... Being "funny" about it doesn't necessarily make it any less dangerous. ;o)
