Ifeel uncomfortable watching people loosing their houses, while sitting here in safety, may god bless them all .
@Kristen145123 жыл бұрын
A few months ago my shed burnt down with 2 of my kitties in it and we have cameras around our house so we could watch it again and sadly I lost 1 of my kitties but miraculously the other one survived. But I was so uncomfortable watching it on camera because it took so long for the fire department to get there, and me knowing that my babies were in there. And about 15-20 minutes later the fire department got there and we don't live that far away from the department but only 1 truck shows up with minimal water. My dad got the garden hose out and was doing the best he could with that while the fireman took his sweet time to get the hose out. And what was stupid about this guy was the fact that he didn't even know there was a firehidrent right across the road. So this guy is walking (slowly) around doing nothing, my dad picks up their hose and starts to spray the shed. But this guy comes over and yells at my dad for trying to stop the fire because there is minimal water. Eventually more trucks came and stopped the fire. And when it was safe they went in and saw the kitty I'd lost but couldn't find the other one. My dad picks her up and lays her in the garage and goes back out and all of a sudden here come the other kitty, walks out just fine, only a little dirty, my dad puts him in the garage and continues to clean up the mess a bit. Now we have it rebuilt and we buried the one kitty we lost and the other one is still perfectly fine. But what I'm mad at is my sister told me that the firemen were required to practice for 15 minutes before going to stop a fire. Like how dumb is that, oh someone is stuck in a burning building, hmm let's go practice. It's just so stupid.

@@davidparker667 Pretty sure most detached houses in Japan are still going to be wooden framed like the ones in this video, but possibly with fancy flexible foundations that you don't see too often in CA. Also, these houses are clearly 70s era or older. Obviously tall buildings are going to be use reinforced concrete. Don't be a troll.

Living in California, I am always amazed that homeowners in vulnerable fire areas do so little, if anything, to prepare for the inevitable wildfire. Locally, we had a big one in 1995. A small neighborhood on a hillside was built 4 years before the fire. One guy wanted the group to help pay for a 5000 gallon tank and a hydrant, in case of fire. Not surprisingly, they all turned him down, explaining that they already had sprinkler systems. They guy warned them, that their sprinklers won't work, because power will be shut off, and firefighters will use all the line pressure. So, he bought the tank and hydrant himself, and installed it 100' above his own house so it will have pressure no matter what. When the big fire came through, I'll let you guess which house was still standing, and hardly singed.
