How did you like the dealership you dealt with. Would you recommend them. Or do you feel the dealership ripped you off overcharging you. I have a 2018 Hyundai Elantra that I love. Bought brand new However I can't stand the dealership the dealership has been nothing but a headache since day one they overcharged me and everytime I take the car in for simple maintenance like an oil change they want to charge me 235 dollars. And to make matters worse when I put a down payment on the car instead of subtracting the downpayment from the $18,000 they literally added it to the overall price And when I caught the mistake they said oh no you have pay $2,000 for a dealership fee and another $800 for destination charge. When I try to back out of the deal they said so sorry you've already signed the paperwork and it's already gone through the finance department so there's nothing we can do for you. They were so dishonest about it . the price that was listed on the front sheet was $2,800 less but after reading all the fine print of the six pages of the contract it was $2,800 more and then on top of that they charged me another $300 for what they called free oil change and tire rotation. When I try to use the paperwork to show them that I have a free oil change and tire rotation. They said I didn't use it within the allotted time. but I don't put a lot of miles on my car so by the time I had the first oil change the car was already a year old. Another trickery of the paperwork. I'm sure not all Hyundai dealerships are bad but I can tell you this for sure that Napleton Hyundai is the worst. Nothing but dishonest Crooks. All said and done I wound up spending $22,000 tax title for an $18,000 automatic SE model with 15 inch steel wheels. The only extra my car has is it has the Android auto carplay and tinted windows along with cruise control.

One 2.4 200 hp and one 2.0T with a stage 2 tune 93 octane 345 hp 390 ft lbs and had zero issues except one time i went into limp mode and the wastegate actuator had to be fixed. 150 bucks. Never broke down. Never left me stranded. The cars that break are the ones that are beaten on and dont get regular full synthetic oil changes every 5 k miles. I also changed the coolant every 50 k miles. Its called preventative measures and maintenance. The theta 2 had a open deck design which had small oil passages near the head bolts. It caused oil to get hot and prematurely break down. If you got the good synthetic and changed it normally and let the turbo and engine circulate the oil for 1 to 2 minutes after heavy use it would be fine. People just beat the hell out if them and wondered why they were melting the blocks.

@emptyshirt
@emptyshirt 3 жыл бұрын
Even adding AWD compatibility adds weight and cost. That is what kills the new Mazda 3. Making room for that drive shaft adds a few pounds, a few dollars, and takes away a few cubic inches. These economy cars don't need AWD and couldn't slot in to the entry level performance market if they had it. If you want AWD get a Genisis and don't complain about the higher cost of the feature you want.
@kingchakazulu7762
@kingchakazulu7762 3 жыл бұрын
@@emptyshirt Idk, its still too early to see how well the new Mazda 3 will sell. AWD is now all the craze, imagine a Camry/Corolla with AWD or the Accord/Civic, junk Subaru would be non existent. If Honda/Hyundai/Toyota put AWD in their sedans, nobody would buy their luxury brand sedans. No AWD in economy cars = Higher profits from CUVs and luxury lines. Subaru and Mazda are the only two Japanese car companies that do not offer a luxury brand, so they put AWD into their shitboxes. Notice how the Altima only offers AWD in the base model? Shit money tactics by the Americans/Asians.
@emptyshirt
@emptyshirt 3 жыл бұрын
@@kingchakazulu7762 The Camry does have AWD, but it isn't on the TRD for some reason. Actually, the TRD is maybe the closest competitor to this Sonata, that or the Maxima. I think leaving AWD out of sporty cheap sedans has a lot to do with the higher price and acceleration cost of adding AWD. AWD doesn't help with dry pavement performance at this level, and these cars are oriented toward dry pavement performance at a price point. You are right about luxury features being left out of entry level cars, but AWD is different from features like memory seats or heated steering wheels because it can't easily be tacked on next model year if it is trending. That is beside the point though.

Seriously considering one of these as my first brand new car. As old as it makes me feel to want an automatic fwd sedan, at the same time it seems legitimately pleasing to drive, plus the features that come as standard put my 2010 acura TL to shame. All for Civic or Accord price? Yes please. EDIT: I pulled the trigger shortly after this comment, and I have not regretted it yet. The N-Line is truly satisfying to drive, both as a daily and under... "sporting conditions." The only thing missing is a manual transmission, though I know that'll never happen. I haven't had the chance to bring it to a track yet, but that's coming in a few months! I get compliments on the color very frequently at the pump - not exactly a reason to spend the extra bucks on the option, but it does make my day every time.

Have you driven in any major US metro area lately? You can't enjoy your manual trans sports coupe if you are completely boxed in by Chevy Traverses and Nissan Rogues. Reliance on cars kills the enjoyment of driving. I would like to upgrade my base model 2019 Civic with a manual trans to this Hyundai, but I can't reasonably throw half of my savings at a fast car when 99% of the time my basic Civic is fast enough. I might just get a basic Elantra in a couple of years and try to sell my Civic before demand for ordinary manual cars finally vanishes.

Hyundai is only underrated to the ignorant! Hyundai vehicles are very well reviewed, not to mention they are all over the road. I've been a Hyundai/kia owner since 2003. Currently have a 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan which I been trading in for 18 months now. I just love the car so much I can't pull the trigger. We went and got the wife the Palisade, I'm a car guy but man do I love that Palisade. We took that to Florida back in August, easiest long trip drive I've ever made. Me and the car shared driving there and back. Crazy how good the driving assist package is on that thing. Totally destroys what my cousins 2019 Escalde has to offer. Not to mention it has a better ride, more usable features, better sound system. Imo a better vehicle period and we paid 30k less.

@@jamesriley6947 This comment is so late you've definitely already made a decision by now, but just in case you didn't know back then or now, the N-Line has everything the SEL+ does, just with the performance and sportiness upgrades N and N-Line vehicles are known for. So long as you make sure it's got the technology package, you're getting the same car but better. Only the Limited has more features.

Just blew up the engine in our 2012 Sonata last week. Only 102k miles on it. Luckily the dealership covered the replacement. Hyundai extended the warranty to 120k since these 2.4L GDI engines have been known to seize up due to faulty bearings. Just hope they didn't slap in another one off the shelf that's going to have issues. I hope they have improved on the connecting rod bearings. This happened the day before we were leaving for a 4700 mile road trip. Had to take my old 2001 Taurus instead. Never thought I'd say that an almost 20 year old Taurus is more reliable than an 8 year old 100k mile Hyundai, but alas it is.

Nobody buys them because they handle for shit. Now, my 2013 Kia Optima SXL is older, and I am sure they may handle a little better with newer tech. But as soon as it hit into power, unless you are perfectly straight, you lose all traction. It was kind of scary and dangerous. And that was with 270HP, and they are up to 290 now. SO even worse, as i have seen and heard from other reviewers.

I rented a sonata last weekend, here is why no one is buying. 1 - I got the car and put in park went insidem my house.( Why these horrible cheap plastic buttons for gears?) Came back and put the car in drive and it wont budge. Called rental car company and after 30mins deliberations they asked me to push a P button under the steering wheel completely out of sight. Odd thing is, sometimes it gets into P mode when you park and sometimes it doesn't. Just random. 2. There is a push-pull button to select driving modes. You can see what mode, but can't select the driving mode as the button is not pushable. In my car, there are few buttons and just push the one you need (Sport/Snow etc ) and done 2. Apple carplay is horrible, every few minuets it complains and can't connect and i have to keep pushing button few minutes, else we loose the map. We conculded, they ran out of money designing few of these :) 3. Design is so bad, wipers can't be bent 90 degrees. Guess what rented and that weekend we got 16inches of snow and you can't make the wipers stand! Designed by people who have never seen snow 4. And of-course longevity is an issue as told by mechanics. Guys -save headache and go buy something works and thats why sells! Just one weekend and have never been this eager to return.
