@@bird718 I’ve seen one in the wild. Didn’t impress me one bit. It looks wrought with over design cues and incoherent design direction. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to keep looking or look away in embarrassment. The K5 and the genesis line up look much more cohesive and palatable.

Holy Hyundai I just got 9 new Hyundai reviews in my sub box😂 I always go to Alex first, though. I applaud Hyundai for giving us this version of the Sonata, but as sporty and fun to drive as it seems, I’d probably still go for an Accord 2.0T or a Mazda6 2.5T, personally. But easy to see why others would go for the Sonata instead. I will say I’d have this over the Camry, though.

Very, very impressive. I've been a DCT fan since I opted for VW's DSG in my 2013 GTI when I replaced it with a 2018 model, I didn't hesitate to opt for it over the MT again. I haven't tried other DCTs but reviews frequently cite the Korean versions as less satisfactory. Good to see Hyundai stepping up their game. I'll withhold judgment until Alex reviews the KIA K5 GT but I suspect there will be few differences.

This car has great paint color choices . I have one in Hampton Grey that is a really beautiful looking color and then I see one in white, blue, black or silver and go WOW that's really sharp looking. I don't think they look bad in any of the colors.

I would take this over a Honda Accord, Sonata N Line is gorgeous interior and exterior. It's fast for a Front Wheel Drive Sedan. But I own a 2009 Genesis 4.6, I love everything Hyundai and Genesis are producing. South Korean cars are awesome reliability is a 10.

Great review! I'm a senior so I'm clearly not the targeted market for this vehicle. I find the rear reminds me a little of the Civic which I find as a turn off. These big grills are not my cup of tea. How does this car compare to the (poor selling) Kia Stinger? To my tastes the Stinger is definition of beautiful.

This has a very important tech which 2.0 accord does not have, port injection. This will help avoid carbon related issues & lower maintenance cost. Hopefully Honda will add pi in future model.

Don't forget that you also get 3 years of complementary service with this car or any other Hyundai product. Just another thing Hyundai does that no other manufacturer offers in the segment. Hyundai is doing EVERYTHING FIRST, everyone else is in there rearview mirror!

Somebody please explain the obsession with soft-touch surfaces in a car? Is your computer or house soft-touch? Microwave? Fridge? So what's the difference if the panel or surface is soft if you never put your hands on it, like the airbag cover in front of you, a part of the dashboard, or the "untouchable" door panel? Thx

Agreed, this is called “anchoring” where people use past data and experience to anchor what they see and do today. Just a failure to constantly relearn, investigate, and question what you believe. Way way back in the day the new toyota and honda were junk and then boom we lthink they are the best. Sometime in the future this thinking will change as ot always does. This anchoring plays out well when you hear someone say chevy pickups are garbage because my dad said so 😂😂

@@rk4921 and lets talk about the worldwide issue that Honda still cant fix with your oil dilution 1.5t 4 cylinder engines, Second of all Hyundai and kia no longer use the theta 2 engines and has replaced it with the smartstream engines,meanwhile your Honda is still putting in defective oil dilution 1.5t engines which can lead to engine stalling

Let’s have more fun, yeah! Gorgeous color. Backend look is one of the best I’ve seen. From the iPad, the gray interior is a let down. Black would off a better contrast to exterior as would matching color stitching. I drive a ‘20 Avalon Hybrid luxury model. I look forward to the day when exteriors in this color are offered for hybrids. I hope I live that long. LoL.

You compare the Sonata N Line to the V6 Camry and Accord 2.0. The Accord smoked the Camry V6 and Camry TRD (which is pretty much the same thing) in several KZbin video comparisons. The Camry will definitely get smoked by this car as well. The fastest midsized family cars right now are the Chevy Malibu 2.0 and Honda Accord2.0. Both do 0 to 60 in around 5.5 seconds.

Second I love Hyundai, but I hate the very confusing and subtle differences between the trim levels, what happened to the good old days of base model, SE, Limited and Sport? They then threw in an "Ultra" trim and now this silly "N" vs "N Series" into a confusing array of limited option cars.

Hi Alex. Being a PPV (Pre-Production Vehicle) I was wondering what the ultimate destiny is for the model you drove. Will it be crushed and recycled, or, would Hyundai sell it? If they did sell it they could revise the warranty to exclude any fit and finish issues - buyer beware. The payoff? A much reduced sale price for the consumer. Who doesn't look for a good deal?

As much as I love Hyundai, I can't help but being disappointed in the N-Line. This should sit above the Limited an have all the features the Limited plus more. Also needs a better engine sound since it is the performance model. Other than that, a very sharp looking vehicle!
