Welcome back to PART 2 of our fuel injection pump journey! After meticulous cleaning, the demanding process of assembly begins. The assembly process includes a lot of measuring and tuning steps, which we will introduce in part 3.
The Mercedes-Benz W113, often referred to as the "Pagoda," is a classic and iconic model produced from 1963 to 1971. One of the notable features of this car is its fuel injection system, particularly the Bosch mechanical fuel injection pump used in certain variants.
The W113 was one of the first production cars to feature a mechanical fuel injection system. Developed by Bosch, this system was innovative for its time and offered improved performance and fuel efficiency compared to carbureted engines.
The mechanical fuel injection system used in the W113 was quite advanced for its era. It featured precise metering of fuel delivery to each cylinder, which resulted in smoother engine operation and better throttle response.
The success of the mechanical fuel injection system in the W113 paved the way for further development and adoption of fuel injection technology in subsequent automotive applications.
Overall, the fuel injection pump used in the Mercedes-Benz W113 played a significant role in shaping the performance and reputation of this iconic model, contributing to its enduring legacy as a classic automobile.

I have a question. Where do they tend to leak fuel into oil. I found couple of liters of fuel in engine, i had test tank hanging above engine, and its only place that it could hapen, witch seal separate fuel from oil, thanks .👌

Thank you for your question! When dealing with fuel injection systems like the one in the W113, fuel leaks into the engine oil can be caused by several factors. One common culprit is the injector seals or o-rings deteriorating over time, allowing fuel to seep into the engine crankcase. Additionally, issues with the fuel pump seals or the fuel pressure regulator can also lead to fuel leaking into the oil. Given the complexities of vintage fuel injection systems, we recommend consulting with a knowledgeable mechanic or specialist in your area who can conduct a thorough inspection to pinpoint the exact source of the leak and provide appropriate solutions.
