@Motor Age, Based on the inrush current of this vehicle and in the event that the vehicle later goes on to have a discharged battery (due to say the headlights being left on), would you jumpstart it with a portable 12V battery powered jump starter pack that can deliver at least about 500 peak amps? Thank you for all the information packed content. You and Goss' Garage are my favorite for automotive knowledge.

Good question! I never really thought much about the peak amp rating of a jump box. I'll go with my gut and say that the bigger the better! I would think that a low rated jump box would not last as long or offer as many attempts as one with a higher rating. I'll have to do some more homework!!

Thank you sir! Why wouldn`t the voltage trace cross the 12 volt triggering level at the trigger point? Isn´the blue dot the triggering point?

I think you mean how the voltage trace starts up from the left of the screen and holds at the trigger point until the vehicle is started. That's the beauty of the "Single Trigger" function.

hi PETE, i heard you mentioning something i need clarity on. you spoke about memory saver. is it possibble that you can uninstall a car battery and when you reinstall it the car does not start? and the problem being that you ininstalled the battery m.b.s moshitoa (south africa)

Yes, it can be possible because throttle position may need to be relearned. Your service information system should be able to tell you what systems need to be checked after a battery swap.
