Thank you!! Just bought a 2014 Ram 1500 with the 8 speed/knob shifter. I always change my oil on ramps, then push the vehicle down in neutral to level, to fill it so I don't get a bogus reading. I thought I was going to have to start jacking it up, but this video gave me the answer. Great tip/secret hack. My truck doesn't have the owner's manual with it, so I would've never known about that.

Pulled up to an intersection in my F550 and one of these trucks pulling a trailer lost its transmission. I pulled up in front of them while I was getting chains hooked up, they found this video to get it out of park. 1 - More electronic shit WE DON'T NEED 2 - The gear selector dial is in the same place as the transfer case dial on the F-150. Excellent choice, Dodge. This Ford owner accidentally moved the dial to PARK while moving when attempting to disengage 4WD. The good news is the electronics are smart enough to prevent me from buggering the transmission. I do like the newer Dodges and the 8 speed tranny works well. However I'd much prefer the gear stick be a lever.

On my 2019 the parking brake is electric. So how do I apply the parking brake to get to the override to put the vehicle in neutral? And maybe you can tell me how to override the damn parking break that wants to apply itself anytime I try to move the truck with the door open. Remember being able to open the door and back up? Call me old school but this nanny system is too much.
