Well, it might just be me, but as much as I love the Classic 500, that nervewrecking noise would drive me nuts in no time. I clearly prefer the original exhaust. This here sounds more like a tractor on steroids... :D

Why are your lean angles so large? Are you crossing up? Getting your upper body on the inside of the turn will reduce the necessary lean angle of the bike. This is essential on bikes with fixed foot pegs IMO.

If you are a slowphase rider then you can change the exhaust any time ...but if you are a kind guy who push the bike to its limits (100+)then you must consider ecu remapping according to the exhaust.

Changed my standard exhaust for a Hitchcocks short bottle at 200 miles ..bikes ecu adapts within 50 miles or so ..my bike runs great!enjoy

It sounds like you have a little exhaust leak, probably at the head to down pipe, because my 500 did that too, the 'spitty' sound. The two nuts probably need tightening or, better fix, copper gasket p/n 582638. The 500 is supposed to roar not sound like a motorboat like the 350 does. Get it right and you have UJM chasing you down just to tell you how good it sounds. Not the best sound recording but similar speed and very steep here kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5-9o2SbgNB8kJY

@@lhommedessables I have a full free-flow system too. The spitty sound sounds like the asbestos cement exhaust gasket has turned to powder, blowing a bit at the head. The stock exhaust gasket is pathetic, the earlier model copper gasket actually works.

I hate the new 500's, no crackle and pop on the over run, fuel injection has killed the proper enfield sound, gimme the earlier carbed one any time for pure eargasm noise

You can laybour them by keeping them in to heigh a gear. Be cause they have so much torque. Not good for bottom end. This bike sounds like it's in to height a gear.
