Nice camp gear tour.. Have you considered hammock camping? It greatly reduces the bulky setup of tent, ground cloth heat shield etc. Just a bugscreened hammock and a light tarp if it rains. I think it would suit your style.

I use Slime too for emergency tire repair to get me home. It works. I’ve done tire changes at home with tubes but in the woods…. 😢 But I carry a Lezyne bicycle pump. It never ceases to amaze me the size of battery operated pumps that guys carry when you consider you hardly ever use them. I’ve infaled my tires with a quality manual pump many times and it doesn’t take take long. Barely longer than a battery pump. And it’s not that hard either. Takes a fraction of the space of those monstrosities..! 😜 The rest makes sense. Carry on. 👍🏼

"shank" 😆 Same - I always have at least one blade on me. I try to remember to take my EDC Benchmade out of my side pocket just in case I crash.

Good comprehensive video. Definitely gave me some ideas. Do you use the slime as preventative and puncture repair, or just repair? I have a transalp and I am still trying to figure out how I am going to deal with a flat on the trail. I tried removing the rear tire on the TA and as they say it wunt happenin... at least with hand tools... Thanks -AL

I don't slime my wheels before hand. Never had a flat yet luckily
@Legendigo4 ай бұрын
@@adventureundone Put Slime in before you get a puncture! The liquid will leak through the hole while the wheel is rotating and get to work whilst the air pressure helps the process. The Slime will leak for a few seconds and hopefully fix the problem. The Slime will generally leak through the hole in the tyre to locate the problem area. With practice (especially rear wheel) you can repair the tube without removing the wheel (can rotate to a suitable position since you have the leak location identified. IMPORTANT, if you are just relying on the Slime without a tube repair....... you may find it starts to leak again as tyre pressure increases on re-inflation. You will generally find that 20psi holds and your good to go. How do I know?....... been there a few times! Take it steady until you or the shop repair/replace the tube.

I mount my pepper spray on the upper bike, I don't want to be trying to dig in bags in an emergency. I ride pretty remote though. Do you pre-slime ur tires or just for a flat emergency?
