sound of that rain hitting the tent roof...awesome

WAKE UP WALMART CANADA I've been waiting 20 years for these nylon low priced tarps to re appear on the canadian market ....The closest thing we have is a 10 X 14 NYLON tarp for about $70, without tax.There is a huge hiker , camper , biker market for something other than the useless plastic tarps.I finally sewed my 2 , 20 year old ones together & put then over my tent or table & they caught a 2inch dead fall from clobbering me in the head one morning!We paid more than $20 for a 5X7 , nylon tarp back then & it was marketed as a "A" frame tent fly!...Like your video ., keep it up.

We camped in crooked river state Park, Florida last month, in the rain as well. I can relate with getting the fire going. One trick I learned, is if rain is expected, keep as much firewood as possible in the hard cases. Great video.

good to get the local news and weather on the radio. I love the motorcycle camping. we have fire haha. get 4 of them kick stand things for your chair .. Take care and thanks for sharing .. enjoyed it a lot

Your comment on having a radio is right on. I thought it was just me but here is something about solo camping that having a radio provides some strange connectivity yet keeps the solo ...solo...if that makes sense.

I always bring a shortwave ham radio when I go solo camping on my KLR650. It's a lot of fun to be able to talk to people around the world with a pocket sized radio and a small 12V battery. Besides that it adds a feeling of security knowing I can call for help anytime and anywhere. See, the radio requres no man made infrastructure to successfully communicate with people hundreds or even thousands of miles away. I would not travel cross country without it.

You're still alive! Cool! Your motovlog is your motovlog and you can make it whatever you want. My idea of camping is a hotel without room service, so please do keep making ones like this. I assume there are others out there who don't camp and are interested too. I hope you keep vlogging on your trip, because other than a few overnight trips, I won't be going anywhere this year. Be safe and have an awesome time.

you need to make a meal cozy for your mountain house meal. I doubted it...but a buddy made me a believer. The radio thing is so true.

A little gasoline out of the bike tank ., does the trick to get a fire going & then dry out the remaining wood around the perimeter.The older square grates made a better fire possible here in my neck of the woods.I would just leave the old foil i cooked on on the grill, & pile some rocks earth sand etc on top ., & then make a huge fire by slowly prying the grill up out of the ground as I went., even going as far as shoving stuff under the legs .Yup I would have the only huge hot fire place in the campground,( even in misty light rain ).

Thanks for the video. Some good tips! I’m trying to gear-up and word-up for my first long moto road trip. Wondering if there’s a book or video that might be informative for my transition: I’ve done 5 long distance bicycle trips, but never a motorcycle trip. I know there are many obvious differences between motorized and pedal power. I’d like to think that some of my highway bicycling skills and knowledge will translate to motorcycling. Not bragging, but I do think my 17,000 mikes of bicycling will give me a better start to moto travel. Yes?

Get 4 tennis balls and cut crosses into them and put them on the feet. I'm pretty close to 300lbs and have the same chair. The legs don't auger into all but the softest soil.

Glad you're back! Planning my trip for the fall, god willing. But watch and bought most of your suggested gear. What kind of camera do you use? Mount ect..? And when camping do you just buy firewood once you get to the camp ground? Keep the videos coming!!!
@GoSutto10 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! For the helmet camera I use a GoPro Hero 2 with an external microphone stuffed into the cheekpad inside my helmet. For some of the other video I used my iPhone and my Canon PowerShot SX160is (just a basic point and shoot kind of camera). As for firewood, I usually have to set up camp and then go back out for wood as there isn't much extra room for it when I have everything on the bike. If worse comes to worse I can just gather it from around my campsite. But the majority of the time I set up camp and then go out to get firewood. Lots of videos to come...I'm heading out on a multi-month trip in March!

great videos. i plan on doing the same this summer/fall on my Harley. i have been backpack camping for years so i also have all the gear for this. just wondering what type of GPS do you have on the bike??? what brand and is it wired directly to the bike???
@GoSutto10 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! My GPS is a Garmin Zumo 220. The Zumo series is made for motorcycles (waterproof, bigger on-screen "buttons", etc). It is hard-wired to the bike although the power cable has stopped working. I'm using the cigarette adapter until I can get it fixed.

for your chair from sinking why not get something like small coasters or those kick stand plates
@GoSutto8 жыл бұрын
+101southsideboy Good idea. It hasn't been enough of a problem for me to carry anything else with me but if it gets too crazy I'll start looking for a solution. Kickstand plates are a good idea!

As long as you have beer cans you have feet for your kickstand and your chair.

The cookset is a GSI Pinnacle Dualist. As to the "two way radio" I'm not sure what you mean. If you mean the radio I was listening to it's just a simple wind-up emergency radio.
