Hi Frazer just a little tip incase you don’t know DONT WHATEVER YOU DO heat any canned food in the can because they now LINE THE INSIDE WITH PLASTIC FILM and it’s extremely toxic, Love the vids watched about 6-7-8 (lost count) because I’m enjoying them sooo much . Thanks for these very inspiring and you’ve actually made me order some kit tonight got myself the 19 CB500X so perfect bike with around 80MPG I cannot wait for my panniers to arrive and the tent you use so keep the vids coming. SCOOBS UK.
@motorbikeway5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip, you are completely right about the plastic lining. I have avoided this method since then. I can't wait for you to get all your kit sorted, if you decide to pick up a camera and film your adventures, I will happily watch them. I'm always interested in my viewers adventures. All the best!

Love having a nosey at somebody else' kit, nice choices.For myself, I ditched soap when I noticed shampoo does the same thing (and in a sqeeze can be used instead of laundry detergent. Always found soap messy to carry) Also be aware heating stuff in "Tin" cans is a health hazard as they are lined with plastic which melts into the food as easy as sugar into hot tea.That tip courtesy of You Tube channel "survival Lilly" cheers and happy camping.

Thank you for the information about 'plastic' in cans. I cook quite a lot of food like that, so it's probably time I did a bit of research. Many thanks, and all the best!

Great kit, you do have a reason to take said knife with you as you are camping! we need to try & take our balls back here in the UK, in the US people take huge fixed blade knives to do camp chores. When I'm out I need to split fire wood cut all sorts of things open all sorts of things & in an emergency if you see a car on it's roof with petrol pissing out & someones seat belt is jammed I bet they would be grateful you bucked the law & had that blade with witch to rescue them, before the car turned into a fireball with them inside, knives are tools nothing more. Education is what is needed with this issue but sadly schools no longer teach the skills needed in life. Ride hard roll free..
@motorbikeway6 жыл бұрын
I completely agree with this "a knife is a tool". I personally think the law should be rethought, so that if you are carrying what is considered a practical amount of camping equipment, you should be allowed to carry a variety of blades without question. Thanks for your comment & all the best!
@riggingengineer5 жыл бұрын
@@motorbikeway You can mate. The knife laws (under 3" blade, no locking etc) generally apply to knives you keep in your pocket at all times. If you have a valid reason for carrying a 12" Rambo knife, they're perfectly legal. So if you have it packed with camping gear it shouldn't be a problem...not so much if you're carrying it out of a nightclub at 2am. :)

Informative. Love the "Ridgemonkey." I'll have to see how the works with my set-up. I have to say though, the knife comment saddens me terribly. Cop: "Why do you need such an "offenssive looking knife?" Me: "Well, I get pretty offenssive in the kitchen." - Like a "non offenssive" kitchen knife can't maim or kill someone? I mean, just ask any slasher movie killer. Ridiculous. I hope it NEVER gets to that in the States.
@motorbikeway5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment. The Ridgemonkey is great! I find is so disappointing we can't carry a practical knife for camping in the UK. It makes cooking prep a lot more awkward. All the best to you!

Hey Frazer I also Slumit and ride a bike (1250 Bandit) was wondering about your sleeping pad ...any good for side sleepers..cheers
@motorbikeway5 жыл бұрын
Hi there, The sleeping pad is very basic, and I still find it uncomfortable lying on my side. Inflatable memory foam mattresses seem to be the most comfortable, but a bit too bulky to carry. I will get back to you if anything impressive pops up. Great choice on the tent by the way. All the best!

You are allowed to carry a knife of any length in the UK as long as you have a valid reason (camping is a valid reason). However, automatic knives are illegal no matter what length they are and can even face up to 2 years in jail for possession. Which to me is stupid

Are you going to do that yourself, fairly straight forward job if you have space to work indoors
@motorbikeway6 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I tried doing this before, and the bike didn't start after I finished. Ever since that, I lost my confidence in the job, and left it to the garage. Maybe I will try fixing it myself again one day :-)
