OR just use masking tape. Kind of obvious, really.
@norsefalconer5 жыл бұрын
Window cling film has no adhesive and is more durable than tape. If the leading edge pulls up in the wind, a small amount of tape can be used to hold it down. I personally like to use layered Plastidip, and for more wear prone areas (and tank grips), this product cut to size/shape: www.gator-guards.com/products/gatorskinz

Putting ductape on your fairings is a really bad idea. Don't do that! Will destroy your paint or stickers when you pull it off.

Tinfoil conducts heat, be aware without a heat shield in place on the inside of your fairings, there is a chance you could melt or distort the fairing, I've seen it happen.

HI, I LIKE YOUR TIPS AND HACKS VIDEO. Here is a tip for you, Use plastic bagsfor large areas to cover, then BLUE painters tape first to secure and duct tape, second for durability, as a team.. Blue painters adhesive is much easier to remove when you are done. Do not use any kind of duct tape on viewable surfaces b/c the tape adhesive with heat over time makes it difficult to remove. Even with the best petroleum solvent or citrus adhesive removers, it is difficult to remove, not so with BLUE painters tape. Use duct tape in emergency mode only!!! I recently came back from a 2,000 mile trip, using an uncovered, rented U-Haul 4 x 9 M/C trailer. I trailered a 2015 Yamaha FJ-09 Sport bike in pristine condition. I used some U-Haul green wrapping over the windshield first,and on some other areas, then blue painters tape to hold the green plastic wrapping and used duct tape for securing the edges. Plastic bags over any spot that bugs, road tar or debris would hit the M/C in the front I wrapped up. It worked fine. Occasionally, a taped spot would start to come undone. A quick spot-taping would fix that. I covered the bulk of the M/C with a large heavy-duty moving blanket. I used Harbor Freight 's medium-sized plastic clamps to secure and clamp folds to make a tight fit around the M/C from the front of the gas tank to the tail piece. Here I used duct tape only and wrapped the clamps , not worried about what they looked like at the end, They are cheap, but strong and never moved the whole trip. This whole comment was to help you and others who care to protect their M/C's during a long, trailered move if they don't have access to a covered trailer. When traveling a long distance with a trailer, weight becomes an issue and the small U-Haul M/C trailer was 400#'s lighter than the next size up. Sorry about the length.

Advice on how to wear shoes on bike, just a huge tip......never wear shoes on a bike, boots save your feet and shoes destroy feet.

Filtering through traffic is safe enough if you keep your eyes peeled and observe everything thats happening around you. I do it quite often especially on dual carriageway roads on my way to and from work. Btw im talking about almost stationary traffic moving at walking pace, and filtering through it, at around 10-15mph. On roads wide enough of course. The way some people do though weaving through traffic especially on dual carraigeway roads, jumping from lane to pane and squeezing through gaps at 60-70mph... Thats simply stupid

Duct tape isn't pretty, it's invaluable for jury rigged repairs to hold together what will be replaced at end of journey or for improvised first aid. Gaffer's tape is used for almost everything in the film industry because it's durable and removes clean. It's "the good stuff", not cheap but worth it. A lot of people are suggesting painter tape, because it doesn't leave a residue, which is true and it costs less, but it isn't as tough as gaffers tape. The choice is yours.

rather than carry a solar charger that small that isn't going to charge up a damn thing, wire up a plug from your battery to charge a battery pack via USB from your bike's stator. your bike over-produces electricity anyways, and it gets dumped into the oil as heat through resistance, so rather than waste whats already being generated, put it to use. bonus: charges in a reliable and decent amount of time, day or night, cloudy or sunny, and isnt a stupid gimmick.
