Good video had charging issues this season ended up being the Rectifier , always good to have spares ....noticed your idling volts levels are between low 12's- low 14's ......

Same problem on my 06 r6s just figured it out before I found this video. Wish I would have seen this first!
@handyandydmv6 жыл бұрын
what do you mean the rectifier had an open circuit?
@pkdann646 жыл бұрын
Andrew Ordonez It means that the current was not traveling the path that it should so basically the the wiring in the rectifier was broken somewhere. Thanks

I have a problem with my bike BM it doesn't charge the battery faster . I need your help
@pkdann645 жыл бұрын
Albert Faustin I would first check of there is an open circuit in the regulator/rectifier. If it is good, the next thing will be the voltage coming out of the stator.

Pkdan great video 👍🏼 I’m having the same problem. I just don’t know which aftermarket brand can be good, do you have any suggestions🤷🏻♂️
@pkdann644 жыл бұрын
David Polanco i wish I could suggest one but I bought used OEM. When I was doing this repair, I saw a few brands on google but they were either too cheap or too expensive, and I did not have enough reviews on them.

U should always change the rectifier at same time of changing the stator because u will always have this issue down the road.
@pkdann642 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. That’s is what happened.

My motorcycle battery is also charging v slow, but my rectifier is new, and also the battery... Is that the dynamo I need to change ?
@pkdann647 жыл бұрын
Yes, I would check to see if the dynamo/stator is outputting enough voltage.

ok, thanks

Mine right now puts out 13.8V on idle. But at 4rpm it drops to 12.9. Stator or rectifier?
@pkdann646 жыл бұрын
Eduardo Bianzon definitely something wrong with your charging system. I would start with the regulator since it’s much easier to get to. See if it has any short circuit. If it checks out fine, then it’s likely the stator. A good practice is to change both regulator and stator if money isn’t an issue.

Bro, how do you get the data into your computer? Where did you connect to get it, is it pulled from ECU?
@pkdann644 жыл бұрын
mutanic if you are talking about the data/manual, I downloaded in online a long time ago. I am not sure if it is still available. For the reading, I connected the red and black leads from my multimeter to the connector on the stator.

What's year of ur bike? Mine is 03...so battery just keep dying so how many voltage on recifiter and stator?
@pkdann646 жыл бұрын
I have 2004 636. I think the charging system is a major flaw. I just fixed mine for the 4th time. Anyways, the stator is supposed to output 42.4~63.6V @ 4000rpm and the rectifier is 14.2~15.2V

I have 2001 gsxr 1000 and it is popping and backgireing at idle and when decellerating also the exhaust smells strong of gas whats the problem
@pkdann646 жыл бұрын
Rodney Nottingham do you have the stock exhaust? Is it carbureted or fuel injected? If you have aftermarket exhaust you might need to rejet the carbs or get something like power commander to remap the fuel/air ratio if it is fuel injected. Also do you have any leaks in the exhaust system?

Hello PKDann, my name is Joe and I am from Anaheim California, and I have been having charging issues with my 1970 cb350, they are the exact same things that happened to your motorcycle before you changed your rectifier, so I will do the same but I think the culprit may also be my stator because it is not in the best condition, but I will change out the rectifier and test it first with a fully charged battery and multimeter, then we'll see what happens, thank you for the video brother, very much appreciate

I have a 06 zx6r i have had the same problem, i replace rectifier because my 30A fuse kept blowing out on the starter relay. Had the motorcycle running for about 3 hrs and died as i was driving it. So i just bought stator will be receiving it tomorrow. And i hope my problem will be fixed. But best rule of thumb is if you need to replace stator or rectifier, replace both to avoid this problem. Thanks for the video. Im omw to buy a multimeter. Lol

This isn't just a problem with Kawasaki products. It seems that Japanese brand bikes are sourcing anything they can (parts-wise) from China, even final assembly there. It's sickening. My advice to anyone considering buying ANY brand of m/c these days, either new or used, would be to get on the computer and do some investigating about where the product is built, what problems seem to be prevalent with that model, and even take some time to price out certain components to get an idea of what outlay you'd incur if such a failure happened after you purchase one.
