Knee Dragging: The Squid sport bike riders only acceptable body position for turning; also seen as the only way to prevent the humiliation of "Chicken Strips". Excessive knee dragging will suddenly turn into both helmet and body dragging when the guaranteed high or low side occurs. Remember! Women may be attracted to rugged scars, not bodily skid marks!
@traviskelley6046

Ironic, since getting off the inside of the bike uses less tire and leaves more chicken strip 😆

counter steer freaks people out - even though they do it on pushbikes without realising. I keep it simple for newbies - push right for right, push left for left. It also marks you as a non-newbie if you tread the corresponding footrest (it does work :-) .

It always seemed like an overcomplicated way to explain how to ride a motorcycle, if you know how to ride a bike you know how to turn

People just love to try and sound smart talking about countesteer. They also never seem to mention it only applies when traveling at speed and you just do it naturally. Try countsteering in a car park and you won't have much success

@@mn_mt0964 Many years ago I went with a group of riders from Liverpool to Northern Spain (Ferry to Bilbao), The roads were truly brilliant - lots of new tarmac and 'bend warning' signs that actually gave good info about the hazard (they use an image and a recommended speed in Km/h and if it says 30 then you KNOW it is a hairpin, whereas 70 is balls-out sweeper.). One of the lads was a newbie rider on a 600 Bandit. Dur5ing the ferry ride he bubbled-over about how he was going to 'get the knee down'. In the end a couple of us took him to the vehicle deck, had him sit on the bike and then manually lowered him to the required angle. He went white :-) (At the end of the fortnight he had been such a good boy, that I took pity on him and took him to a traffic island I'd picked-out. After about 20 mins following my tyre-tracks (I was on my Fj1200, so you can probably imagine my exhausts were sparking hugely) he managed to get some 'knee action'. He spent the return trip beaming and telling anyone who would listen......bless :-)

I've been riding since 1959. My first real motorcycle after leaving the Navy was a 1970 Honda CL-90. First Road bike a 72 Yamaha R5C. I really enjoyed this video and I will watch it again, but man, you have got to stop hating on H-D. I've owned a Wide Glide, a Road Glide, a Blast, and it was and an XB-9R Buell Firebolt. I loved them all and they fulfilled their expected duties well. My wife and I rode the "Three Twisted Sisters" with several other couples and had a wonderful time on the road Glide. You need to score a Buell XB 9R or 12R and take it to the track. Anyway, I will be 76 Sep 18 and I love my new, quieter and much lighter Versys X300 ADV. Without a destination, there would be no journey. ✌

This was awesome. As a rider of 40+ years from New Zealand, I can confirm these are legit terms with the exception of ‘nooner’ and one other I forgot because I’m 7 JD’s deep. I started on dirt bikes at age 12, was an urgent motorcycle courier on a GSX750ESD and then as as owner of multiple sports bikes including multiple Gixxers, before moving on to cruisers including a 1942 Harley WLA, a Harley custom Streetglide and a stock Harley Slim + a KTM 690 Duke R, I feel I’m qualified to comment. This video cracked me up the whole way through. Oh now I remember. Squid. We don’t use that term. We call them ‘fuckwits’ or ‘temporary New Zelanders’. The rest are entirely true. What WE have are muppet Club riders who ride Harley V Rods in their shorts and sandals/runners plus singlet with the patch with a German helmet thinking they look the business. They don’t. They look like morons. Love your shit! Keep it coming.

*raises hand* I have a noob question! I have a GS500F as my first bike and some people have referred to it as a "Gixxer" and others have said it is not. I tried researching the origins of the name and got myself slightly confused so I figured the immeasurable knowledge of the YN crew might be able to help me out with this one
@RicardoKerlien
@RicardoKerlien 2 жыл бұрын
A ''Gixxer'' is a GSX-R bike from Suzuki. The GS500 is not a GSX-R The GS500F is more of a sport-touring bike then a true ''track'' sportbike like a GSX-R :)
@tohrmentrixabyss1713
@tohrmentrixabyss1713 2 жыл бұрын
@@RicardoKerlien thank you Ricardo. That was the same conclusion I drew because the GS500 doesn't have nearly the same stats as any GSX-R One guy tried to tell me that GS was the type, the x was a place holder for the cc (GS500, GS600, GS1000 etc) and the R stood for Racing and mine could be a Racing bike I just hadn't tweaked it for the track and I'm sitting there trying my best to be polite but thinking . o O ( that's so not right)

Yam, worklng at several motorcycle shops, makes your "Trike" a 3 wheeled mobility scooter for the Harley rider that lost his foot to "diabtiss" truly awoke something in this "damaged noodle".
