It's Sept 2024 and I couldn't find the Pitbull Lift anywhere. I heard that you have to order from them direct. Then I thought about the complete lift where I can drive my bike up on it. But that takes up a lot of space. Anyways, I ended up buying the "Big Blue" motorcycle lift. It's made in the UK and it lifts the bike up around 3 feet in the air. Check it out. I was impressed. It can hold over 1,600 lbs.

It looks like the link for pit bull is defunct. I just bought a Sears Craftsman motorcycle jack that was several years old as there are no new Craftsman jacks in any inventory anymore. I chose the old Craftsman because many of the current models are cheezed down on quality. The new ones have much less metal, and the designs have shrunk down the heavy gage main frame with less bracing and no metal around the front wheels. The Craftsman jack is a beast and weighs almost 90 lbs and is probably 10 to 30 pounds more than the Harbor Freight and all the other knock offs. So, this gave me the opportunity to buy the best at less costs and clean it up and refurbish it which I've done. I first sanded all the rust off the frame with small wire wheels and flap wheels on my drill. Then use Rust-Oleum (Rusty Metal Primer) on the whole frame followed by the Rust-Oleum Semi-Gloss Black brush on topcoat. The red parts I bought a spray can of "Cherry Red" Rust-Oleum metal paint and sanded down all the rust and sprayed that on. Next a lot of the hardware was working but looked bad - especially the Acorn Nuts used on all the pivot points. I bought new stainless Acorn Nuts and some lock and flat washers and got rid of all the rusty bits. On the platform top where the motorcycle sits, I replaced the rusty Acorn nuts with some stainless-steel lifting triangle shaped eyelet nuts. The Craftsman has all M12 heavy duty fasteners. The triangle (eyelets) can be attached to the bike at first contact and the bike will not go anywhere during the lifting process unlike the loops down on the base cannot be used until the bike is fully up in the air. I've posted the final assembly build and modified skid plate on a Kawasaki Versys X300 to allow it to be lifted up in the air. The video is on my channel - LINK: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kICpmXtor76Er68&ab_channel=trekOCLVone

Cool video and when I researched these and looked at a few of them, I just did not feel comfortable with my 950 lb bike on them. Have a friend with this same jack and he loved it. I am real happy with it but do use it a lot less than I thought I would. Thanks for the feedback link, trying to figure out why that is not working now. Ride safe
@trekOCLVone
@trekOCLVone 2 жыл бұрын
@@BoDean52 I don't think I would put any 950 lb bike on the Craftsman or any other jack of the same style. I would go with a lift table. The Versys X300 is a light bike at around 400 lbs. So, the Craftsman is a very good fit. It is solid and when I put it back together, I filled in the gaps with M12 washers to help its rigidity. The Versys does not even wiggle with the strap method that I'm using as show in th video. I'm not sure what you mean by "figure out why that is not working now". I tried to look up Pit Bull and their web site is gone but I did finally find a recent post on a bike forum and they are still in business. I did see one bad review video on KZbin bashing the Pit Bull jack but the reviewer seems biased. Hmmm.. Ride safe.

BoDean 52 hey brother.. here’s a little idea you might want to try.. get a piece of 3/4 “ plywood that fits under the bike.. find the drain holes.. mark them in the plywood, then using a hole saw cut out the drain holes on the plywood.. doesn’t look like there’s enough room between the jack pads and the lift.. so buy on long 2x4 or maybe a couple..(not very expensive) cut them in lengths so you can run your bike up on them.. and get a small block for the side stand..that should give you enough room for the plywood sheet , plus the plywood will give you extra length to brace the bike should the stand hide the drain plugs!! Just be careful the plywood doesn’t hit anything else!!

Haa! You pretty funny with the cliff hanger! That just means you haven't firmed up on the name yet, it's your bike you can name him anything you like- maybe like Ahhnowld! And if that is your choice, then I would like for the Ozark folks to receive the prize. No pressure Bo..😁

Just want to mention as a safety suggestion, the jack head is not in the correct position. It is suppose to be secure underneath the black housing. It is barely touch the edge of that. Also, you did not use the secure locking mechanisms on each side in case the jack would fail. In this case, if that jack would've slipped out, that bike would've gone down for sure and if you were under it, you could have been seriously hurt. I can't believe that nobody else noticed that. I hope that if you haven't noticed it by now, you will definitely go check it out and secure that right away. I believe that God is protecting you. Take care of that immediately and may God continue to bless you.

Vic, thank you very much for this message and I just re-watched the video and you are 100% correct. I will tell you that I noticed this when I lifted my other bike before I got it up in the air fortunately. I was pretty sure that I put the secure locking mechanisms down in between takes of the video. But thank you again for this because I think I have it down now but this could’ve been a problem. Thanks and God bless

you need to strap the bike after you get it up so you dont pull it off the lift. Your lucky your kickstand came down in the lock or your bike would have been on the ground. your really need 2 people to use that lift to make sure the bike doesnt fall.

Thanks for watching and the one mistake area was the bottle jack was not positioned right, since fixed that. That said, it’s hard to see that on the video but the bike does not budge on that jack even pulling it around. The jack has safety stops from letting it fall down straight so you would have to push it off. I use it mostly for cleaning but when doing any work, I do strap it down. Ride safe
