Here's a motorcycle quickshifter adjustment as another BMW S1000RR custom modification to the record bike with a BMW motorcycle quick shifter and Attack Performance rearsets. It shows the motorcycle shift lever adjustment for a motorcycle shift lever position that works best with the BMW motorcycle shift assist. The attack rearsets S1000RR allow rearset adjustment to adjust the angle of the shift lever to the motorcycle boot when combined with motorcycle quickshifter adjustment to get the smoothest function of the motorcycle quick shifter. Once the mechanical adjustment is done, this also shows how to use the gs-911 tool with the laptop based gs-911 functions for transmission learning with the gs-911 bmw diagnostic tool.

upgraded quick shifter? If so what do you get from that over the stock one? Suggest adjusting the stock one? I notice sometimes the quickshift goes into neutral from 1st to 2nd when starting from a stop.

my bike started as a 2010, which only had upshift assist, not downshift. when i upgraded to an '18 engine and electronics, it also got the updated up AND downshift assist. this particular one is an hp4, which i was told was even a bit smoother than the normal s1k one. i've never had it fall into neutral on 1-2 shift on old '10 one or this one? interesting.

Also is that necessary to reset the trans adaption after swapping to aftermarket rear sets??? I have a 2017 S1KRR

personally, i think it's worth (i always do) doing the tran reset/adaption every time i mess with the links/angles or anything. new rearsets may change your angles a bit. That's why i made this vid, kinda show how if you mess with the geometry, you can check the 90 deg angles, interfaces, etc. and reset the tran. If what you did works fine, great, but sometimes little changes can really affect it.

When you re-learnt the gears (after resetting) - did you have to use the clutch to change gear during that process?

i think i read or was told that somewhere? that you have to pull the clutch between shifts? maybe the computer needs to see that clutch switch each time?

Do I have to pull the clutch in when shifting every gear ??? Or just press the quick shifter up in gears and down ??

My S1KR lags on down shifts, would a trans reset help fix that ?

lags, you mean you have to shift harder to make it take? it's definitely worth a try to reset it if it's not behaving well. put it this way, for me it's an easy thing to try.

Would resetting apply to a 2014 if adjusting OEM shifter rod length OEM rearsets too

yes the GS911 reset still has to be done on the earlier ones too. I believe the old yellow unit (i have my old one here that i'd sell if you don't have one) is for models through '14. you can confirm by looking in the tail and confirm you have a round connection req'd by yellow GS911. The red one in the vid is needed for '15 and later and has more of a trapezoidal connector.

@@NoLimitsNoRegrets Hi, I wondered what those yellow ones were about. Saw them on eBay recently when searching gs911. My bike has round connection for obd 2. I have the adapter too. Yes I would be interested in your Yellow box

If you can’t eye ball 90 degrees without using a ruler you should not be working on a motorcycle and if you don’t know there reverse threads you should not be trying to teach anyone anything 🥴
