I love the river Trent . I have spent many hours fishing the river . I also used to fish the river 7 great fishing . I am ex RAF and love my bikes . I have just bought a 1990 CBR1000F to restore . I also own a Royal Enfield 500cc diesle 1963. Nice stream mate thanks . 👍👍👍👍You live in a beutifull area nice to ride through . Now Berton on Trent takes me back to good english Beer lol. I miss my fish and chips with mushy peas .

I've never fished the Trent, back when I did go fishing it was usually on ponds or canals. It's certainly a lovely area of the country though. The CBR project sounds interesting, should keep you occupied for a while. I remember going to the brewing museum at Burton on Trent a good few years ago. It was a real centre for beer production. I think there were as many as 12 breweries in the town at one time. You cold smell the beer fermenting from miles away 😄😄😄

That brings back memories. My uncle used to take me, as pillion on the back of his James, fishing on the Trent. I don’t remember exactly where but it was near a power station outlet where the water was slightly warm. We used to catch some really rare fish, it was a great spot.

That would probably have been West Burton power station which is right by the Trent just to the south west of Gainsborough.

Nice ride along the Trent embankment and some interesting historical perspective about Lincolnshire! The phrase "criminally intimate" was especially amusing 😅 I wonder how many royals, such as George IV, were criminally intimate with several women, yet were allowed to be so by the society.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. There's a lot of interesting and sometimes amusing phrases and wording in old documents, the English language has changed quite a bit over the years. I'm afraid that, as always, there was one law for the rich and one for everyone else. The important or wealthy wouldn't even get a telling off for doing something that a commoner would be hanged or deported for. Not much changes😂 Cheers.

Good to see Harold earning his keep. The UK is definately steeped in history, enjoyed the Tom Otter tale, very interesting.

Thanks a lot. I'm still learning with the 360 camera and trying different mounting positions but it does give me more scope to show things I'd otherwise miss. Cheers.

I used to live at Belton on the other side of the river. I used to go to The Jenny Wren pub for a short ride in the evening. I was sat up on the bank alone and the bore came by unexpectedly! 👍

Thanks for watching David hope it brought back some good memories. Yes, shame it's closed now, an all too common thing with country pubs now unfortunately. Seeing the Aegir come up the river must have been a bit special, I don't think it happens very often. Right place, right time 👍🏻 Cheers.

A good video, and very well done again, as we have come to expect from you Sir. Thanks. Could you tell us the name of the programme that you use at the beginnig, to plot and to show us your moto-wandering routes? This is a feature that not many of the channels that i've ever watched, seem to use, it puts the whole ride better into perspective as we follow you along? I too would like to see a little more patriotismus but,as I think my late father once said, flying flags was subject to council permission, that was down in Wilts. The way the Americans go about it though, is too much in ya face. I find it numbs the idea. It seems to be expected of them..., they even hang, or stand them in Offices and Schools. But on the other hand, bringing them out in UK in abundance for national celebrations seems to intensify and enhance the occaision! B.t.w, excellent use of the 360👍.

Thanks for the kind comments, glad you're still enjoying them. The route guide is part of a program called Magix video studio that I've used for a few years. I'm actually using a different one now as the main editor which is a lot more user friendly but I still like to do the route maps, glad you like them. Yes, the Americans are probably over the top with the flag flying and I don't think anybody does the pomp and circumstance bit quite like us but on a day to day basis, its almost like it's a bit of a taboo here. I'm trying not to overdo it with the 360 but it is a useful tool. Cheers.

I agree with your comments on the UNION FLAG , ( JACK is another thing altogether ) might be because most people do not know how to fly it ; annoyingly I see many upside down .

David, I find myself somewhat embarrassed as I'm the one who often tells people off for using the naval title or flying our flag upside down. Totally missed that, my brain obviously wasn't in gear that day😂 Apologies.

Audio script is great. But Too much background noise… Pl add some background music instead. Keep the videos coming. All the best.

Thanks for watching, hope you found it interesting. Unfortunately Harold the Himalayan does create a lot more wind noise than my other bikes and getting round that is still a work in progress. Background music is a bit of a contentious issue and I do get people commenting that they like my videos because of the lack of it. I'll keep trying to improve 😊 Cheers

To many good pubs have closed and now large companys own them and to get a good pint of real ale is hard to find . Theres a great pub in the lake distrist called the WALL its a great pint and the food is home grown food . The best is the mixed grill . They have a beer called Sheep Dip wow strong but 4 is not enough .The breakfast is to die for . Large English breakfast the would keep any biker good untill 16.00 . Then back for more DIP lol

Yes, I'm afraid more and more are closing all the time, it's such a shame. We only have one pub left in our village when there used to be at least 6 within walking distance. Thankfully, the remaining one seems to be doing well. It has great food and has guest beers on draft from time to time. Hope it continues.

How are finding Harold? I haven’t ridden one yet nor the 350. Is there potential there as a keeper?

Harold has fitted in just perfectly. He's so easy to ride and just great on these cold wet and muddy roads. A couple of little niggles but then no bike is perfect, but he's certainly looking like a keeper. Hope to get a little update video out between Christmas and New year. Cheers.
