MUST GO! And such a nice road... wow.... I had no idea NY had mountains that high.
@vermont_rider5 жыл бұрын
yes a MUST GO for sure. the Adirondack mountains of northern NY are about six million acres and are home to the largest protected natural area in the lower 48. There are 46 mountain peaks that are over 4000'. Mt Marcy being the highest at 5344. Is an amazing area.

There are a couple higher. Adirondack Park is the biggest East of the Mississippi and, I believe, the biggest state park in the US.

Q: what's the weather like in late sept , riding our Harleys up and have NO IDEA how to pack or how to dress??
@vermont_rider3 жыл бұрын
Typically low 60 up to mid 70’s in the day. It can get chilly in the night though. Wear layers. It is absolutely beautiful during that time. The leaves will be very colorful then 🍁

Also found you thru HDR & wanted to comment that my wife and i made the trip up Whiteface in late September years back on our bike. We started out from home in 70 degree weather but by the time we started back down the mountain the water seeping out of the road surface was ice! By the time we got back to the Mohawk Valley and home it was about 30 degrees. We were like those two in Dumb and Dumber about frozen!

My 5 boys were there skiing two weeks back in the super cold weather when Whiteface was -81 with windchill factor… thatday they only did two runs down as it was brutal conditions.

Was sent here by HDR and I like what I see. Never been in the New York area but sure looks nice. Most including me think of big city and not of the scenic New York. Thanks for sharing and keep that shiny side up.

Haven't riden to the top of Whiteface. Was up that way a few years ago. Stayed at the Cadence Lodge. Have a few older videos from there. Stayed in Lake Placid a few days as well

It is not too bad really. It gets steep towards the end but the curves are big sweepers...nothing to tight. Sorry for the late reply...for some reason KZbin was not notifying me of comments.
