So far, it's a misdemeanor traffic violation...as far as anyone knows. But if the rider is unstable, you can create a hostage or stand-off situation by forcing entry when no one is in danger, and then create a dangerous one. Just take the bike. The guy will have to turn himself in to collect it. No pain, no danger to the neighbors.

@@BigSlimCat That may be, my friend. Not sure on OK law on the subject; but police have to weigh the gravity of the offense against the creation of a situation that endangers the public. IF, and I don't know the details..it was just a series of traffic vios, and the eluding is the felony in itself, that's not like chasing an armed robbery suspect. I've been in LE for 35 years, and we always balance risks and liability against the offense. They'v got the tag, he'll get tickets served, and a warrant will be outstanding. Maybe the guy just got served with divorce papers and is ready to die. Give him a night to cool off and take a deep breath.

He was probably drinking and driving and didn't want to get busted for a D.U.I. IF they entered into the house they can not enter without a warrant and he didn't have to answer if he didn't want. If he didn't answer the door, there would be NOTHING they can do exactly for getting him for reckless driving. Even they he can say it wasn't him that was driving because they do not have an official face recognition. I had this happen to me when someone slammed into the back of my vehicle and she did a hit and run to my vehicle. It was later noted by police that she had many dui's and was on parole. Needless to say, she was never charged with it but her insurance settled to repair my vehicle. GO FIGURE 🤔

Being from Los Angeles and watching something like this, like the Midwest or South version of a high-speed chase is kind of funny. Say what you want about where I live but we definitely got our crazy people in high-speed chases down to a science out here. People cutting across 5 lanes of traffic so they can blast by the bumper to bumper traffic on the shoulder etc... this seems so... serene and mellow in comparison haha
