The Benelli is now made in China with Italian engineering, hence the lower price. Similarly, CF Moto is effectively a KTM also made in China, great value in my view. The KTM engines seem to be fairly bulletproof.

I take it even with dicey infrastructure…cats, dogs & trikes the Philippines is good for riding?

It’s a great place to ride with lots of mountains, coastline etc. Dogs are pretty good at dodging bikes, don’t see many cats but the main issue is the way people act on the road. ITs a challenge but very doable

⁠@@ridingtheislandswithharro6581 Agreed. The stray dogs are biggest hazard in Siquijor, so hard to predict when they zigzag across the road, and the crazy drivers are the worst in downtown Dumaguete. I have narrowly avoided hitting several dogs in Siquijor, they just sit in the middle of the road like they own it and oncoming big dump trucks at the same time make this hazardous. I have seen a number of dead dogs, killed by pickup trucks and SUVs mostly, saw another one today.

Bike prices are almost the same here, maybe a little bit more expensive. Import duties are really expensive so be aware, big bikes are available in Dumaguete and more in Manila and Cebu

Hi John, It’s a straight forward process. Research the bike you want to buy and go to a shop and buy it. Or, if you want to buy off a person you will need to make sure the person has the registration papers and then go and get a deed of sale stamped by an attorney. Prices vary from p1500-3000. You should have a Motorcycle license in your country or an international licence with MC mentioned. You can drive here for approx 3 months then you need to get a Filipino licence. Hope this answers your question.?

Some are even manufactured in the Philippines.. And when on a tight budget hey, the indian brands are also okay! On that note, please also include the Royal Enfield store next time. It is small but have all the important ones there. And TVS is also not bad - they even building many of the smaller BMWs for them.
