You'd think the biker bar company would add one more innovation here: In place of bolts and nuts that the user must screw down each time, why not a lever-tightened lockdown? It would be as solid, you'd only have to adjust it once, and it would only take 5 seconds to lock and unlock.

I have but for our purposes, I prefer the Bolt it On as I didn't have to drill any additional holes.

I’m trying to figure out some measurements myself. With the dirt bike and the bolt it on device, how many feet long is that all together? Trying to figure out if a couple of 250’s would fit in a sprinter van.

Best thing to do is give Scott (Bolt It On) a call. (805-975-8280) We had him on the podcast a few months back. He's super helpful and will make sure you get what you need.

@@2WR I just called and spoke to Scott today with a few questions and he was super helpful. I didn’t want to drill any holes in the floor of my new toy hauler and this system seems perfect for me.

Hey do you have to take the j hoohs nuts all the way off or can you just loosen them and unhook them from the d rings?
@2WR
@2WR 5 жыл бұрын
Depends on how much room you have. Mine's pretty tight against the back wall so it's just easier to pull them all the way out.

Yes, you have to remove the soft touch knobs all the way. It works best if you remove knobs then lift rack out of way and then put j-hooks with knobs back on. Takes on a few seconds and saves them from getting lost. Scott

Nie review, I am thinking about buying one of these myself for my toy hauler. Was it much of a pain loading the bikes backwards? Also, you said NJ in the video and my ears perked up (NJ Native here), what event where you at? Kinda looked like the field @ Ormond Farms.

Wasn't too bad to back the bikes in to load. I'd prefer to pull them in but my bike is too long. That said, they are super easy to unload and remove the bar if they're loaded in this way. And you're correct, that round was at Ormand Farms. Should be back there in the fall I think.

@@2WR That is my issue in my TH. I would have to install in the D Rings up against the door between the camper and the garage making that door useless. I would be left with the same option as you are but I've never loaded a bike backwards. I knew that was Ormond Farms! I cut many a miles of trail there (and the Beehive). I was an active member of CDR for quite awhile until I moved away. Gene, Dave, Tony and the guys put a lit of work into getting that place tip top for you racers. I hope it was and is worth your Journey. Cheers!

Been up there a few times. Always a great time! I'll make sure my shock is good to go for the later round this year. It's not too bad loading them backwards just watch the slope when parking.

Yes, loading adult bikes backwards is a huge PITA, especially if there's precipitation outside and the ramp gate is wet. There's no running start w/ momentum. It requires pure traction at your feet and muscling it back. I don't recommend it if you can find anyway out of it. I currently have to load one bike that way as my toyhauler is too short to offset two adult bikes. Because of that, unfortunately this setup won't work for me.

Bolt It On is certainly NOT the best tie down system for dirt bikes. It is not only WAY over priced, but it still requires the use of straps. You can build your own system using standard 2x2 steel square posts, purchased here: smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B008J52HC2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I made our tie down system for $150, and it transports 4 dirt bikes. You can see how to build it here: photos.app.goo.gl/zTzcnSG23NwojJZT7

I just spent 45 minutes on the phone with Scott figuring this out. With prices going up on your recommended parts taken into consideration, I still purchased this system because of the customer service alone. Scott is awesome.

I have used just about every system out there. This is by far the best easiest simplest to use when you don’t need it is the easiest store out of the way as for price you get what you pay for and this is top notch. PS customer service is above and beyond the best.
