Check out this portable motorcycle tie down system that is perfect for RV toyhaulers. The Bolt It On system uses the D rings in your camper to safely secure your bikes why transporting to your favorite destination. I show this in a small single axle toyhauler made by KZ.

My bar is 44.5". If you order the system, Scott Corgiat at Bolt it on will have you take a picture with the tape measure on the ground by your front d rings to get the exact size. You should have no problem hauling two dirt bikes.

Thanks for posting this. I also recently bought a single axle toy hauler (Wolf Pup 18RJB BW) and was a little concerned with a single axle trailer hauling a full sized motorcycle (BMW R1200RS) but if you are hauling two Harleys with a similar single axle with no problem, I guess I should be good. I'm buying this product!

Hi I like the demonstration might be getting this bolt it on. On another note we just bought a toy hauler camper and there is no spare tire mount. Watching your video I noticed that your spare is located on the cargo ramp door. Did you do that yourself? If so what did you use?
@BikesBoatsBivouacs
@BikesBoatsBivouacs 4 жыл бұрын
The spare was mounted on the back by the factory. You could use an after market kit. You might also look at adding a trailer hitch and ordering a mounting kit for the trailer receiver hitch. Thanks for watching.

Are you not massively overloaded at the rear of the trailer with 2 big bikes like that? That thing has got weave going down the road with negative tongue weight. Not to mention exceeding the GVW of that trailer

The trailer exterior is 8' but Scott Corgiat at Boltiton.com will cut a custom bar for any odd size area. He had me take pictures of the interior with a tape measure to get the correct size. The cost was the same for a custom bar or a standard size. Thanks for watching.

Just curious have you ever weighed your travel trailer with the bikes in it? I looked up the KZ sportsman classic 180 TH toy hauler and the gross vehicle weight is 5000. I’m looking into buying a toy hauler and wanted to see how this setup towed with two bikes with a single axle.

No I haven't weighed it, the only accessory I added was a Maxx air fan. When I had both bikes in it (Harleys) it was tight but pulled as expected. Most of the time I only have my Swicthback in there.

nice job on the system. Bad choice of Rv do, won't be able to fit 2 bikes with fairings. That was my main concern when It bought my Rv, made sure there was no cabinet in the way for at least 10-11' while keeping it short. I found a Forest River 25' that had that clearance. Definitely add a 3rd D-ring in the middle at the back, so you can tie the rear tires with 2 straps (V) to prevent side movement... you don't want your nice hard bags to rub against the other bike or the sofa frame. I've also purchased rubber mat from the hardware store (sold by the yard, 3' wide) to protect the floor. I will definitely consider you system in the future.

Just installed mine in my enclosed trailer. I will say the mount and the bar are stout. In fact the weak link will be my trailer floor!!!. Works great. As a side note the bike's suspension will compress about 1 in so do not freak out if the mount seems a little low (also there are different size mounts for different style bikes). I love it so far. Thank you for the video.

Thanks for the video! I've been looking at that System for the toy hauler I plan to buy next month and this might have sealed the deal. I was curious though, I looked online and watched your review videos and couldn't find the garage width of the KZ 180TH. I'm curious what it is since I plan to haul two bikes occasionally as well and it would give me a more realistic idea of the space I'll have in the models (trying to stay under 4500 dry weight) I'm looking at.
@BikesBoatsBivouacs

The space was about 76" but narrower where the wheel chuck bar went. You can fit them in class together because of the sturdiness of the system. Scott at bolt it on will make a custom bar for you if you need it. Thanks for watching.

Wow- I am new to Rv/trailers- but moving into semi retired. I dont want to buy a big trailer, and to just use my SUV w 7000lbs max. Right now, it looks your rig and your system is the best method for me. I should have more breathing room because I will leave the indian home and take smaller bikes in most cases (adventure/dirt/sport bikes). There seems to be some dual axle small toy haulers-did you consider any of those? Thanks for sharing.

I did but my issues was hieght. I wanted it to fit in my garage so the choices I had were limited because of my 9 ft 8 in ceiling restriction. Most of the time I take my switchback or my wife's 1200 low. It has worked well for me. Good luck. Let me know what you decide.

Can you still get around the bikes without too much difficulty? Have been considering a similar size/layout of camper as well as the Bolt It On system. (Actually your trailer make/model is on my list of possibilities.) Though our bikes are smaller than yours, I'm still concerned it may be difficult accessing the bed & bath area with bikes inside for quick overnight stops. Would like to just be able to climb in and sleep without unloading the bikes. There are some models with the side door close to the front. Am trying to decide if I should shorten my list to those models only.
@BikesBoatsBivouacs

With my switchback by itself it is no problem. With my switchback and my wife's sportster, it's a tighter step to the front. If I had a pair of Suzuki S40s it would be no issue. What type of bikes do you have?
@kudzub
@kudzub 4 жыл бұрын
@@BikesBoatsBivouacs Thanks. Your mention of the S40s gives me a better idea of spacing. Your trailer is, for me, a good compromise between additional comforts and a smaller, more convenient size. I'd rather squeeze past the bikes on overnight stops as opposed to upsizing the trailer. We've a Zero DSR, an electric dual sport, and my wee little Honda XR100R dirt bike. (Because no one makes a dual sport for someone who is 4'11". lol) We could end up with a larger dirt bike in place of the dual sport or take the Zero plus a small street bike for me, like a Honda Rebel 300. Either way, I don't think the space the bikes would take up would increase much. Thanks again for sharing your trailer with us. It has been very helpful. Happy travels!
