I've been working on bikes since I was a kid (1976). I'm confident and enjoy it. But documenting it on video and making it something interesting to watch would be challenging in my opinion. Of all bikes why did you choose an old XR250? I really wanted a 600 for an everything bike but the 250 came up for sale. I want to ride everything from dual sport,Sunday road rides and vintage mx with mine

This bike was available so decided to give it a go. I intend to ride from my place to trail sections about 30 miles away and back without loading it up in a trailer.

I wonder if you could get the cush rear hub from the street-legal xr250l to fit in your swing arm without too much issue. I thought about it but my bike is older and has a drum brake and those bikes had discs like yours

I would have to look into it. I'm not sure of the differences between the xrl and the xr other than tooth count at the rear sprocket and the top 3 gears being longer.
