Күн бұрын

In this video we continue our ride through Pakistan and have our first armed police escort through one of the more dangerous areas as we travel into the mountains.
For those wondering - This is from 2019, just before the pandemic hit! We were lucky enough to get it in just before the world shut. Hopefully we will all be able to travel this freely soon.
This is the 8th country that we have visited on this around the world motorcycle trip and the local people of Pakistan are some of the most hospitable, friendly, welcoming and generous people we have encountered.
Once we arrive at the Kalash Valley we meet the world's best tour guide and experience the incredible Chilam Joshi festival where we witness local ceremonies, dancing and festivities.
If you're ever in Pakistan the Kalash valley is a must especially if you can time it well with the Chilam Joshi festival. The Kalash people are more European looking with their own traditions and strong culture.
We were both loving being back offroad on our Suzuki DR60s travelling between the three beautiful Kalash villages and even dusted off the tents for a few nights under the stars.
Stay tuned for the next part where we randomly become local celebrities, meet more amazing people, take on some amazing trails and keep heading towards the snow.

@@Northandleftabit That's great! I found you guys when in a rabbit hole of DR650 mods videos, and I happened across what felt like the perfect combo of DR650 and moto travel documentary content (living in Canada we've got loads of space and scenery to ride in, but it's a VERY long trip if you want to go anywhere that isn't mostly trees and rocks). Through the magic of KZbin and channels like yours (and others eg ItchyBoots) I've been vicariously living the dream of taking the DR to all the exotic and adventurous looking places that young kids, work and finances otherwise restrict me from. I've loved every video you've put out; your personalities are inviting and engaging and the experiences really speak for themselves. As for feedback I don't really feel qualified to offer anything useful, but I'd just say don't hold back on aspects that you might think have less wow factor than the dramatic drone shots and landscapes and such; observations, mods and repairs of the bike, banter between you two, and interactions with others are every bit as valuable and engaging and really make us feel like we're coming along the trip with you. I'm no KZbin expert but frankly it's beyond me that your channel doesn't have subscribers in the 6+ digits as the quality of what you put out is every bit deserving of that. All the best

Bang on mate. We also heard potentially Alexander and his mob travelled these valleys and "interacted" with the locals resulting in this unique culture and more European looking people. Great to hear you're enjoying the videos still. We're trying to work out what else we can do to grow the channel but I guess we just keep going. Our next video will be out this weekend and is one of my favourites.

that has been disproven by genetic studies, so although Alexander's armies were in this area, the Kalash are not related; they are actually indigenous to this area

Nice guy your guide! Back in my childhood, I use to drink freshly milked cow milk and sheep milk. I am pretty sure that I drink fresh goat bilk too. Still, the sheep milk (fresh) is a mouth full as it was very fat. We must acknowledge that these days, in the "modern world" our food is highly processed and this is not necessarily (by all means) a good thing!

I hope there's enough space to explain. For 2 years I have watched and enjoyed the world travels by 2 courageous solo female riders (Noraly and Kinga) and they opened my eyes to how beautiful the rest of the world can be. And then there's you. I have heard you compared to a more entertaining pair than those in the Long Way series. I would have to agree. You both seem genuine, and have a knack for dry humor, great editing skills, and an honesty in your presentation of the journey. Hopefully my words don't swell your heads so you can still fit them in you Schuberths, and I hope your channel deservingly grows so you can devote your life to doing what you love.

I have to add that you mention what things cost, which is really valuable to anyone who might want to plan a trip to these countries, and for those that won't travel, it still adds context. We like details like that, as well as the temperature of the day and what foods you are finding. It makes it more immersive. For some reason, though, my wife has started drinking Aussie wine. Should I be concerned?

I’m planning to go RTW on my motorbike and I am looking for someone with a similar project to exchange ideas or potentially ride together some part of the way! I’m expecting to leave in March 2023 from Paris, ride to Australia via Iran and India (draw a line in your head), then fly from Victoria (AUS) to Ushuaia, then ride up to Newyork following the West coast, the full project timeline is to take between 12 and 18 months and I am open for modifications. I have already started saving and the planning for the project but I would really enjoy finding someone with a similar project, please send me an email (in my about) if you have a similar plan to achieve the ride of a lifetime!
