Hi James, thank you so much for your kind offer! We have completed the trip and are editing the footage now but that would have been really nice as we sometimes struggled to find a place (as we book an hour or two before we need it). Scotland was amazing and we had fantastic weather so really looking forwards to sharing the footage that we got. Thanks again and hope to hear from you again =)

Really enjoyed this video and what went into packing..hope you had better weather in Scotland than I had a few weeks ago where it was 5c and snowing on the mountains..looking forward to the rest of this series and after watching this I’ve realised I definitely need to get more organised in the packing front.cheers

Hi Ian, really glad you enjoyed the video! We actually had perfect weather in Scotland -like sunny blue skies (we almost didn’t believe it either 😁) Wow snow!! We were very fortunate then, hope your trip went well. If you like the packing videos we start each playlist off with a packing video. The packing video for Norway was the most detailed as we had camping and cooking equipment. Here it is: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3TIh55tir18bbssi=BWAof5EKjQqGJbFD

There is no mosquitoes is Scotland Emily but the midges love to bit it the west coast of Scotland. Better bringing a midge net and skin so soft might help. Hope you both have a good trip.

Yes, as a Scot and walker pack “skin so soft” from Avon or camping shops now stock it in Scotland.

Hey Sean, I hadn't come across ACF 50 before, and a Google search backed up everything you said. One query: The petrol cap on my R1200 GSA is playing up, so much so I'm considering buying a new one, but at around $600 (Australian) it ain't cheap. I have pulled the cap apart and cleaned it, which made a slight difference, but I was wondering whether ACF 50 would 'fix' my problem. Gotta admit, while I love my Beemer give me a key anytime.
@SeanandEmily7 ай бұрын
Hi, yeah it's great stuff. When i changed garages and but my old 2010 in for a service the mechanic asked straight away if i used ACF50 - he asked because the bike was still in near perfect condition. That petrol cap issue is a right pain, not had it as bad as that but if i don't really close the cap it doesn't want to open -so a firm closing every time seems to work. Others say to loosen off the screws a tad (especially the FWD 2 that hold the emergency opening plate on). I'm not sure if the ACF50 would help but it's safe of rubber parts so might be worth a try. Also do you have a tank bag ring fitted? -some aftermarket screws can distort the fuel cap.
@MyGapYears7 ай бұрын
@@SeanandEmily Thanks for replying so quickly Sean. My tank bag is a BMW one, so that doesn’t affect the cap. The idea of loosening the 2fwd screws is worth a try. I’ll let you know how that goes. Thanks mate.
@SeanandEmily7 ай бұрын
It's worth a shot, hope it works -nothing worse than having to fork out a wad of cash for something like that! I guess you already know but if you remove the two fwd screws and the plate it's the emergency opening (it's in the manual) but you shouldn't have to carry a torx screwdriver around with you just in case lol Also if you press it down before lifting this might help too, yeah please let us know if you have any success

Would you recommend this suit for a Netherlands, Belgium, France summer trip ? or is there something better you would recommend for warmer weather ?
@SeanandEmily7 ай бұрын
Probably not to be honest, at 20 degrees it was getting a little bit too warm, above mid 20's it might be unbearable. For the warm summer weather we don't think you can beat the campanero world traveller suit. Here's a short review of it: seanandemilytravels.com/motorcycles/ride-in-style-and-comfort-compaero-world-traveller-review-of-the-best-motorcycle-gear-for-touring

If you are coming to UK leave the opinels behind , unless you can supply a good reason they are illegal to have in a public place in this country, replace with non locking folders , and use any extra space for more security 😁
@SeanandEmily7 ай бұрын
Hadn't even thought of that! I guess that makes a Leatherman multi tool illegal to have in public too! Crazy rules
@ogjimbob7 ай бұрын
@@SeanandEmily yup anything with a locking blade requires a good reason , fortunate Swiss take a more sensible view, which may be part of why I spend a month or so a year over there nowadays 😝

Was there in Jan and it was sultry! Skiing was late spring like! Easter was actually cooler with better snow until the Saturday when we had 25C on the range at Sigriswil 😛 back in September for competitive shooting in the Interlaken area although thankfully the big range at Guntelsley is fully booked as I have never known that be anything other than cold summer or winter 😆😆

BRC Motorcycles are about 15 miles from Inverness and will supply and fit tyres, just give them a call. We used them on a trip when one of our party had repaired punctures in both tyres.

Is the suit ventilation effective with the gortex layer in between?
@SeanandEmily7 ай бұрын
The suit is goretex and the ventilation segments are cut into the suit making the ventilation work well 👍🏻
@nikoscosmos7 ай бұрын
@SeanandEmily that's good, my suit has a boil in the bag liner and the vents are useless!
@SeanandEmily7 ай бұрын
Ah yeah, we've had one of those before! We usually go for a vented suit with a waterproof outer layer, but for this one we dint want to be taking the waterproofs on and off. Up to 20 degrees this suit was perfect!
@nikoscosmos7 ай бұрын
@SeanandEmily I looked for one on the Touratech website. There's only a limited of range of sizes and almost sold out. Is the suit made by Revit I wonder? They say it's the same ventilation system. All the best Nick
@SeanandEmily7 ай бұрын
Hi Nick, yes that's correct it's made for them by Rev it. I believe that there is a new version of the suit on the way which could explain limited sizes
