I spent 25 years riding motorcycles, still do, and until on vacation about 10 years ago with a friend and his wife, who are both serious long distance Harley riders, never had I ridden one, rented one before - they had their own. We were in Key West and he told me it's the only way to get around in a congested area. I have owned a Honda PCX150 for 8 years now, absolutely love it. I've had zero mechanicals and avg 115mpg, which it isn't supposed to get (105 I think?). The CVT seems to reduce my riding concentration, and stress, by about 30%. I can focus more on the road, what's going on around me, the sites, and riding. I always always have a huge grin when I ride it and can absolutely rail through turns on it, and even ride on smooth dirt roads or across a field. My next one will be in the 300-400cc range, because I'd like the ability to go on the highway. For me, that'd be the perfect size. Great video! I like the Burgman, that's what I'm thinking about. Or a used Honda Forza.

It's not the same as a motorcycle but not that different, a different flavour if you will. I’ve just completed an 1100 kilometre trip from NSW into Queensland on “mostly” very ordinary roads and a lot of rain. My BV 400 performed faultlessly, never missed a beat travelling at a consistent 110kph to 120kph. With a top box, under seat storage and two Corazzo soft throwover panniers I had more storage than I needed for a 7 day trip. The only downside was a fuel reduction from 29.5 ks/l to 26 because of the panniers

Having ridden both the 650 and the 400, the only advantage of the 650 is if you ride longer journeys , it's more effortless and I found it quite boring, the 400 is lower down riding style , a lot more lighter and fuel efficient, and you have to ride her, especially round corners and easier for riding between cars/ lanes

Sadly, my Ducati, Super 10 Tenere, and 6 other bikes in my stable are not going to get my attention for a while. I love this thing. It'll cruise at 80 mph, and the speedometer has to be constantly monitored because it gives no sensation of how fast you're really going. 70 mph feels like 45 mph on my other bikes. The Suzuki looks very boring compared to the Piaggio. The old long haired man is just a joke, he favours the Suzuki no matter what. Use competent people to test and not half high hippies…….

Prefer the burgman 200 than the 400, top speed is very similar but the 200 has much more space under seat “2 full face helmets” But the 400 is far better than the piaggio,

You heard so much bad about California in the news that you forget how magical of a place it's. I was really not much into scooters but with age I'm starting to warm over them.

Had motorcycles for many years, but these bigger scooters are more practical and more fun as far as I'm concerned. 'Wish id discovered them sooner...

I have owned a Piaggio x8 250 and a couple of burgman 400. I would recommend the Burgman 400 as it is better for short and tall people. Piaggios are not as well made my x8 engine was in the throws of dying after 25000 miles my burgmans have done over 50000 each.

When the drive belt goes out on the Suzuki it is big bucks to fix.

I thought the same thing. With the help of KZbin video (there’s several of them) I replaced my own. I’m not a mechanic. All for the price of a belt. I did buy a torque wrench. But I use that all t he time now.

You're probably thinking of the Burgman 650. The 400 is no different than any other scooter. On the 650 the entire bike and engine need to be torn down.
