Have a similar problem with Wilderness Systems trolling mount on the stern. The mount fits on Kayak fine, but it is too thin for my preferred trolling motor to fit snugly. KZbin video recommends gluing cutting board shaped to fit motor mount. Nothing disappoints me more than companies building products that only work on what they choose to sell me. Glad you had available what you needed without a home made remedy.

Just purchased a Golden Hawk canoe 12'9" with a square stern for a 4hp Yamaha 4stroke gonna rig it for catfish'n similar to your kayak just a canoe is the platform I went with. I've got plenty of storage for bait,tackle and gear and I can stand up stretch the legs as well. Love your video's Justin, keep chasing & living that dream.

Must be nice to get a new trolling motor so quickly. Ive had a Garmin Force ordered since the beginning of March. Had an estimated delivery date of 4-20 thru 4-25. Well here we are on July 14th, and Russell Marine still has no clue when it will be in stock!!! I bet if Scott Martin needed a new Garmin, he would get it overnight!!!

Justin you could have just bent the tabs back to fit I wo u ld think. I liked the second mount better anyway, no corrosion issues with that one and it looks better as well as a handle. That motor has to cost as much as the kayak. Hahaha

Hey Justin here's an idea for your anchor sticks what if you use some type of screwing mechanism on the tips of your anchor stick and then you push down and turn or could that become too much of a hassle? Just a thought you probably already thought of.

Another great video that I have watched for the second time now. And you got me thinking of getting the Hobie. Now that you have had the trolling motor on for awhile now what do you think of it. Pro’s and con’s. Do you think it could be set up as a transom mounted motor and work ok? Just thinking of a different set up in my head. Did you also try the first motor mounting plate with a piece of cutting board in the gap on the front? From the view on video it only looks like a 1/2” gap or more. The One objective mount has a thicker piece going between the handle and the front of kayak. I maybe over thinking it.

I answered the pros and cons on one of your previous comments. I do think you could mount it on the transom and I have been thinking about trying it out there. It would make spot locking in the winter better because I wouldn't be facing into the wind. I didn't try to diy the first mounting plate to make it fit. If I spend that much on a mount, it better fit without modification.

What happened to the hobie evolve you reviewed previously? Did it fail? Have you done a video on how the motorguide performs? I got the kayak version which is 36”. I’m not sure the exact distance under the kayak but it isn’t very far from the bottom of the hull.
